I was very disappointed to see that this museum still displays golliwog figurines. These items have a long and painful racist history, and their inclusion without clear historical context or explanation is deeply inappropriate. Museums have a responsibility to present artifacts sensitively and educate visitors about their background, not normalise harmful stereotypes. I hope the curators reconsider how these items are displayed and provide proper interpretation or remove them altogether.

Love this quaint shop, beautiful magical Christmas display in the window. Unusual food items that surprise and delight. However 2 older men (look like brothers) who serve in the food area are incredibly rude each time we go in this shop. I try not to let them put me off but I think their customer service technique needs some work on!!

What an absolute delight this amazing place is. You first enter and think itβs a butchers then there is a shop which has stopped in time only to discover the museum gosh it took me back to a very young girl! We then approached the cheese section, I was salivating only to then go to the most quaint ordering counter and place our breakfast order which all the meat came from the butchers at the front off the shop ! The breakfast was truly amazing we had the full English breakfast , my son and I had the omelet with everything and we left with very contented tummies and a shopping bag full of lovely goodies bought from the shop & cheese from their own counter my only regret was that I didnβt buy their last home made pork pie ! So I will have to go back This truely is an amazing spot to go to you will not be disappointed

A great shop with friendly staff and always has something different. Excellent coffee, which can be ground on request. The cafΓ© at the back is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (10 am to 3 pm). They serve a range of hot dishes, toasties, salads, sandwiches, and drinks. We bring visitors here, who enjoy the Yesteryear Museum.

Take a look at the Coffe Shop which is through the shop - its amazing! It's cosy, with a great selection of teas and coffees and the collection of artefacts from the 1930's to the 1960's are a sight to behold! You wont be disappointed.

Pleasant shop. I felt like I was walking into a museum in some ways. Fair prices and wide range of foodstuffs. Had a tea in the coffee shop at back which was nice. 'Exhibit' with the mannequins and old grocery shop items was a bit surreal & bizarre to walk into. Certainly an unmatched retail experience

A great little deli with lots of unusual and tasty goodies, including pineapple jelly and interesting chocolate! I love the fact they sell also coffee beans, and will grind these for you. This is exactly the kind of shop that deserves your custom, and now (thanks to covid), more than ever.

Beautiful place takes you back to the 1940s (not that I was around then) it has a good range of food and drinks with fresh ground coffee available. The cafe part of this shop is very interesting and well worth a visit
