   What a lovely, busy little cocktail bar! Not your normal cocktails, so I felt a little giggly when I had 2 cocktails lol! We were first 2 in, the quickly filled up. Girls serving were polite & friendly.

   This is a cocktail bar upstairs of Makers House, open only on weekends and does a really unique menu of cocktails. The bar has around 7 tables and operates on table service, the dark and elegant British decor adds to the ambiance which is most suitable for intimate drinks for 2-3 people. We ordered 4 cocktails among the two of us, all were amazing. A cocktail is £12, expensive, but so worth it. Will be back for more!

   Update March 2024... This place still lives up to the high standards we saw in 2018/19. Excellent cocktails, pricey, but PROPER, made with pride in what they do. Nice staff, and feels as fresh as when we first visited. Original Review from 2018: Wow, what a great place. Tucked away above another bar in a nice part of town. Probably the best cocktails in the city. Table service and brilliant staff. Very, very impressed. Expensive, but you get what you pay for here.

   Best cocktail bar I’ve seen in Norwich so far. This place actually has a decent back bar of spirits. Really nice staff that serve high quality and great tasting cocktails consistently. The decor is very nice and has a warm ambiance and amazing table lamps. We went around 10pm on a Saturday and there was one woman on another table that had clearly overindulged and was being a touch disruptive to the otherwise exceptional atmosphere. The bar bites were delicious. We opted for the croquettes with iberico ham and will be back to have them again. We had six cocktails between the two of us and each was delicious, well presented and had great quality ice (yes it makes a huge difference) Will be back again to try the downstairs bar/cafe.

   Over the past year we have held a few Good Egg Entrepreneurs events at Hawthorn. Richard and his team have always been amazingly brilliant - nearly as good as those cocktails ;) Richard is an absolute star and really helped us out, when I was taken ill earlier in the year. Really appreciate his kindness and all round mixology genius. I hope we will be back again soon!

   Have had drinks here on a few occasions now. Staff definitely have no problem in creating a very reliably good dirty martini - not too common in East Anglia! Pleasant surroundings, pleasant staff, a little tapas menu.
