I had a really nice meal on Friday. I'd never been before but I will definitely go again. Ordered soup of the day, vegetable, and it was hot and came with a roll and some butter. I ordered salmon for the main with potatoes and green beans. Also had chips, onion rings, bread and coleslaw. I left very full and very happy with the food that I had. Took some home in take away boxes. The ladies who served me were excellent, friendly and efficient. I'd like to thank everyone at the Rose and Crown. Definitely recommend.

We have been coming here off and on for a number of years and have always enjoyed quality food and large portions. For the very first time, today's food specials were a disappointing experience. Yes we said fine across the bar to is everything alright? But that was to avoid any embarrassing discussion and problems. I had Shepherds pie and my partner had cheese & onion quiche. The quiche, while nice, was a tiny portion and I mean a tiny portion. My partner is a small eater but even she was disappointed. Her accompanying salad was not dressed and should've been. My Shepherds pie didn't taste the greatest and was smothered in mild cheese - why the cheese?? Spoilt things. It's not a lasagne. Our chips and my peas and gravy were Good and tasted nice. This is the first time we have had below par meals at the Rose & Crown and prices are fairly high at the best of times! Not Good.

Booked a 90th birthday party at the Rose & Crown for my mum. I couldn't fault anything. The staff were excellent, the room was perfect for the 30 or so guests. Everything was accessible for my mum who isn't the greatest walker any more. A playlist of music from 60s and 70s was played as requested to add to the atmosphere. We had the hot / cold buffet. Much better than your usual buffet fare. Everyone that has spoken to me afterwards has said how good it was (and how much was available). I would highly recommend this pub for functions.

Visited a couple of weeks ago!! Wanted a cute little pub to visit and have some home style food and that’s exactly what we got! Absolutely beautiful food!! Service was brilliant and the views were amazing too! Didn’t expect the amount of food we got though! But not complaining at all!

Can’t rate the food at the Rose and Crown high enough for the cost. Really top notch quality for the cost. I had the large fish and chips, the wife had the small and the daughter small gammon, egg, pineapple and chips. All of the special menu. 3 plates, 3drinks, £45….bargain!

Really friendly welcome for my dog: Daisy. My sister & I dropped in for Sunday lunch and were served a delicious meal. Fine range of ales & drinks. A well run pub which keeps the locals entertained. Regulars who obviously enjoy the pub's atmosphere and are happy to share this friendliness with Johnny come lately's like me! We shall return.

My wife and I along with our son and his girlfriend stayed over on the car park in our motorhome. (phone to check availability) We all had meals from the specials menu. The food was superb and at very reasonable prices. They have entertainment on a Saturday night(check Facebook page). The locals were extremely friendly and chatty. What's not to like..Well recommended.

We went here as a family or 9. Age from 9 to 70 yrs old. We heard great reviews from the food here. 1 of us had been also so strenghtened the want to go. Good to say they didnt let us down. The female staff who served us well deserved her tip, very knowledgable. When we asked her questions about the drinks and the food. Food was great and we really enjoyed this, none of us all had 1 complaint Thanks again and will be reattending

We had an excellent Sunday lunch here in an amazing new outdoor beer garden overlooking the valley. The roast beef was excellent and so were the ribs. Beer choice was good and the service friendly. It’s popular with locals, so I recommend that you book.
