We stayed for two nights. We arrived late on first night but we're greeted and checked in fine. Room was nice and spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, tasty and filling. Staff were great, pleasant helpful and attentive. Our only gripe being the radiators took forever to heat up and warm a quite cold room.

Lovely place to stay. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was delightful. Staff were professional, friendly and welcoming. I would visit here again.

I’m guessing an old coaching inn, which means on quite a busy road, that serves great food and has 6 well appointed en-suite rooms available - 3 of which are dog friendly. Above average coffee/tea making facilities in the room with proper fresh milk and a fridge. My only note is that breakfast is didn’t start until 0900, so no good if you’re up and away early. Good walks in the area.

Really nice venue, lots of areas for different guests. Outside is nice be aware swings and twisty slide removed, a disappointment to our kids. Food was pretty good, service was excellent. Minor gripe that cutlery was large and ornate, but that's not ideal for kids little hands. No kids cutlery apparently. Had to go up and order dessert after getting a dessert menu we were just left. Also, bit pricey, Β£18+ for a burger and small portion of fries

I want to love the pub, it is my local...ish, if you overlook it is not walkable due to a lack of footpath access on the very busy A34. But it has a massive issue that is far worse. Arrogant dog owners. Yes the pub does have an area for none dog lovers...thanks Mr Robinson but it is essentially the restaurant. You may want to sit in the main bar area and why not? It is a very nice and welcoming place? But having to share it with dog owners that let their mutts sit on furniture made for customers is simply not on. I have witnessed a family of five let their pet sit on a sixth chair at the table! Pity the poor soul that sits there next, getting dog fur, general dirt, faecal matter off a dogs unwiped backside and whatever parasites it currently hosts, on their clothes. The final straw for me was last Saturday, again an arrogant owner was letting their pet run all over the furniture and then putting its paws on the table! Not on Robbies, especially when you are charging the highest price for a pint of Unicorn in Congleton.

Went for an early doors meal with my husband to celebrate his birthday. So glad we booked as saw a few people turned away, it was St Patrick's day though. The makeover is magnificent! I couldn't recognise any of the original rooms, it's been done to such a fantastic standard. The loos are fabulous too, so often they get overlooked, but not here. Food, pretty wonderful to be honest and not expensive. Drinks are what you'd expect to pay in an upmarket pub. Staff friendly and efficient. Come and see for yourself, you'll not be disappointed. Well done Waggon and Horses, the only thing missing was Tuli the Unicorn!

Only had supper there. Food was adequate, nothing special or anything to excite. Service was also mediocre and nothing to write home about. Should have stayed at my b&b and ordered takeaway. Maybe some training in how to smile would help. Had steak that was a bit chewy and loads of gristle. Chips way over salted and for decoration half a tomato and 1 string of watercress. The garlic butter was also disappointing, and I have had better from basic supermarket Lurpack garlic butter. The cheesecake was standard off the shelf catering bought with a pitiful portion of ice cream and unfortunate sauce sprinkled over, which was, I think, butterscotch but totally spoilt the lemon flavoured cheesecake. One day an eating establishment will actually provide a real nice home baked cheesecake. As I was on a trip through the area I'll unlikely pass this way again. So won't have the misfortune of going again. I was also SHOCKED that my small bottle of tonic for my vodka was Β£2.50. Yes Β£2.50, another reason for not going back.

Haven't been here for years but I'd heard it had been refurbished so went for a lunch with family. The place has been decorated beautifully and there is such a lovely atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive and the service was quick. There were lots of food options available and what we chose as a group was very tasty and there were clean plates all round! The outside areas look like they will be great in the summer months and with the plentiful parking this is definitely somewhere I'll be going to again

Lovely place. Nicely decorated. Food OK. No steaks on the menu was a bit of a disappointment! Definitely need more staff on a Friday evening, only 1 on the bar and 2 on service. Recently opened, so they need time to settle in. Hopefully, further down the line, all problems will be ironed out!
