    Great local pub with a small but excellent menu and specials menu. Good selection of beers from local brewers and the nationals. Friendly hospitality. Beer garden, parking, dogs welcome.

    Been I the peel for the first time since the new owners have taken over and they have done a amazing job of the pub. The new owners have given the pub a much needed paint and a good clean and they have put a lovely patio in the beer garden. The toilet seemed new and very clean. They really seem to be trying really hard with the place. They had a BBQ on today which I found to be a great idea and really do hope that the pub goes from strength to strength

    Went in opening time for a drink, hadn't been there for over 20yrs. The place has had a bit of a upgrade, from the basic 1 and a bit rooms. To enlarged premise with beer garden. Must have had the 1st pint wasn't too impressed but the 2nd not to bad. Just us and another couple in at the time.

    Came across this quaint little village pub with the help of Google. We were not sure but turns out this little pub is a gem of a find. Lovely pub grub and really do try and make an effort with the whole allergy, vegan, vegetarian revolution... I have a dairy allergy and felt looked after and not a challenge. Food portions are generous and quality is good, the chips in beef tallow are yummy.

    To be fair it's only an average 3 star simply because it was a quick first visit. First impressions? A warm welcome local with a roaring range fire in a traditional, unspoilt rural pub, only slightly off the beaten track. A nice choice of ales and a fair menu, the food we were told is all home prepared and home cooked. Sadly for us the pub opened at 4pm and the food started at 6pm, our fault for not checking. There's some lovely local walking in the area so we'll be back to try the food and review the review. Perhaps the walking is something that the pub could make a feature of?

    Lovely traditional local pub. Nice friendly atmosphere. Efficient and friendly staff. Good choice of meals. The lamb Henry is delicious. Very reasonably priced. Margaret,the owner, organises regular events for the community and raises money for charity. I highly recommend this pub.
