Lovely vets, nurses and reception staff. I have been to the Southwick and Hove clinics and found everyone to be kind and caring. My cat's vet, Anna, has been gentle, knowledgeable and honest. She tries to do what's best for my cat, but is also mindful of and transparent about costs.

So many issues with these VETs, it’s unreal. I have a cat with complex medical problems and I constantly have to advocate for him and us. They do not communicate with each other, they don’t look at their documentation clearly and they have just lied today to my husband’s face about charging us AGAIN for a prescription that we have already paid for. I purposely asked him to attend today because every single time there is an error/issue/problem, it’s exhausting and shows how incompetent the team is. AVOID at at costs if you want to retain your sanity.

Everyone is very friendly at Southwick and Southdown vets as a whole. They have been great with my cat, Moose whenever I've had to take him in. I was recently given an appointment within 2 hours of calling on a Saturday morning, despite them being fully booked because my cat was wailing in pain and I was very worried. The vet thoroughly examined him, put my mind at rest that it was nothing serious and gave Moose some pain relief. He was miraculously fine by the next day! I can't thank them enough for always seeing me promptly when my cat has been in discomfort.

Parking is a problem, always has been . That's to be expected. Two members of staff came to check our arrival after sending the required text and didn't seem to co-ordinate our arrival. However, our dog loves all the staff and they seem to love her. Professional care every time. Have been attending this practice in different guises since 1974! Well done you vets, nurses and carers.

It has been a while since we left this vets, but I thought it was important to write a review now I have the time. So if the quality of service has changed in the mean time I wouldn't know. We took our cat into this vets with a tooth problem. At first the service seemed very good, it was only after the procedure recommended that we saw problems. Firstly and most importantly our cat was still in pain and still not eating after the op, we took her back in a number of times and was told that it would take some time for her teeth to get better due to swelling etc. Then we were told it could have been a thyroid problem which we had her tested for, and it wasn't. After a decent amount of time we decided to take her back to her old vets as she didn't seem to be getting better, they told us that there was still a problem with her teeth. She had an op done at this vets and now she is all better, she is eating fine and happy again, which is great. Why this wasn't done in the first place I don't know, I am not a vet, but our cat still had issues after her first operation which in my mind should have been picked up on her numerous post op visits. Also both my partner and I also had calls from them saying that we hadn't paid, which wasn't the case, I guess there systems had a problem, but we had told numerous times it was a mistake. The nurses all seemed very nice, so that is a positive. Also there are 2 locations for this vets, one is on Church Road and the other is on Sackville Road, this is where we had the operation done.

I am so grateful to this practice for all the fantastic care and attention they have given to my cat, especially over the last 18months since she was diagnosed with 2 critical illnesses. I always knew they were good from our annual vet check ups and occasional visits following the odd cat fight! However, since her diagnoses last year the staff have been absolutely brilliant - both with our cat and with us. Every member of staff has been extremely friendly, professional, knowledgable, honest and so very caring. It's been a long journey already but 18 months on and our lovely little cat is back to her playful, mischievous self and in the best health for a while. Whilst that may not last forever, I know she is in the best possible care with the team at Southdown. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
