I have been a regular client of Alexander Jewellers for a few years now both in a private and a commercial capacity. The quality of their work is superb and I have taken both watches and jewellery to them over this period and not been disappointed. Ethan and all the staff are always super helpful and a joy to deal with so i highly recommend them all the time and will continue to use them myself.

Took my nearly 54 year old 22ct 7mm Wide Wedding Ring which was made privately in 1970 to be resized from size T to X and a half which where the sizes ascertained on the 14th February 2024 Valentines Day in Jewellers. Was told ring would have to be sent to the workshop to see if this could be achieved and the cost. Was told this could be achieved at a cost of £150.00 which my wife agreed to pay. Got a phone call to say ring was ready so on 12th March tried ring on for size which fitted fine, so my wife payed the £150.00. But that night decided to start wearing the ring which I noticed had a bad dent where ring had been jointed and when rolled on a flat surface it was all wonky. So on the 13th March took ring back to complain the Manager checked the ring and stated he was not happy with the ring either and would get the issues resolved. Visited shop 26th March and 2nd April ring still not available ,was suggested to us that the best solution would have the melted down to form a new ring which we agreed. Then 9th April went to collect Ring to find that it was no longer 7mm wide but 6.6mm and no 22ct mark so still not correct. Manager stated he would have to do the work himself?. Then on Friday 12th March the Manager phoned me to state ring was ready but he was not happy with the inside of the ring?. So I said to him why phone then?. So again on the 16th April Visited shop to find they where now awaiting a 22ct stamp to mark the ring, revisited the shop again on the 23rd & 30th still awaiting a 22ct stamp eventually got a phone call to state ring was at last ready on Friday 10th May. So on Saturday 11th May nearly 3 months from the start went to Jewellers to pick up ring. The Manager stated due to the issues we would be receiving a full refund of £150.00. So he preceeded to show us the ring by rolling it on their desk / counter to show ring was no longer wonky but unfortunately when he went to pick the ring up it flew out of his hand and bounced on the floor, unbelievable I stated that's another dent before we get the ring back, I asked the Manager to recheck the ring sizes it was 7mm wide had a 22ct stamp which was rubbish compared to the original mark , she'd to check the ring size to our amazement he stated just over X nearly X and a quarter not X & a half, was asked if we wanted this rectified we stated no thank you we would accept the refund and take the ring to a proper Jewellers not a Mickey Mouse one who had totally destroyed the 54 years history of this ring. The only reason we chose Alexander Jewellers because they where local and where listed on The National Jewellers Association MID 61596 so whilst we where having all the issues got in touch with the NJA who could not believe what was happening with my ring and was told they would be getting in touch with Alexander Jewellers , then to be told that unfortunately the NJA should not have had Alexander Jewellers on there list because they were no longer a member so the NJA apologised and have removed Alexander Jewellers from their list unbelievable. Alexander Jewellers had stated that they had to put 2 Grams of gold into my ring which I do not believe is correct because I have taken ring to another Jewellers who weighed the ring as 5 Grams?, when I showed them the ring they could not believe the work that they had done, so ring is totally ruined been stretched to much? Been advised to scrap ring and purchase a new one

Fantastic service. I took my watch in to be looked at this morning as the battery seemed to have stopped working less than a year after I had had it replaced (by someone else, not at Alexander Jewellers). The person I spoke to was very knowledgeable and happy to help. They spent about ten minutes of their time looking at the watch and determined that the battery was fine but that it hadn’t been placed in the casing properly. I tried to pay for her time but she refused to take any money from me, as she hadn’t needed to change the battery and said she was happy to help. I know many small, independent businesses are hurting right now and I imagine some others in a similar situation might have told me I needed a new battery just to make a little bit of cash, so I 100% appreciate the honesty and integrity here and would definitely recommend this business!

Recently changed my batteries for two watches. The hadles inside of both watches had moved. I took it back and they were very polite and send it to the lab to fix it. One is working the other one still having problems with it and the time is not even aligned.

First rate service in an independant jewellers. The assistant went out of his way to help me choose a watch for my wife's birthday that was competively priced.

Recently had my Wedding and Engagement rings resized. Staff are friendly and it was a very reasonable price. I have also had replacement watch batteries from there which they will usually do for you whilst you wait. I had a little browse whilst I was there and they have some lovely pieces of jewellery and other items. Great service!
