I like the pool, the steam and sauna rooms next to it and the spacious changing rooms. Things I don't like: Having only one lane free between 4-7pm on most days because of all the lessons taking place and having a "family lane" operating at these times too. If this had been explained when joining rather than just being handed a complicated paper timetable I wouldn't have joined. Having problems with the water supply twice in one year; not keeping me up to date on the situation and the fluctuating pool temperature after these events. They didn't even offer goodwill guest passes let alone money back for these days when I wasted my time and fuel going there. The inconsistent temperature of the showers - they're often barely warm. The smell in the showers. The inconsistent cleaning of the showers. The ineffective costume spinner. Lowering my disability discount mid-contract without explaining this would happen when I signed up. Saying in an email that this would make my discount more in line with other members. Other members who are disabled??!!! Not having a membership that is just for the swimming facilities so I'm paying for a gym I can't use. Maybe Nuffield could consider that as an option. Before the price rise and despite the issues above I've largely enjoyed going there believe it or not!

Joined for the Joint Pain Programme struggling to walk without pain. I was out of breath simply walking to the toilet and struggled to get up and down from the floor when playing with the grandchildren. I was facing the possibility of a painful steroid injection and medication for high cholesterol and blood pressure. Coupled with a change to a healthy eating plan I achieved a weight loss of 7stones (almost 45kgs). I complimented the gym programme with walking a weekly Park Run. As my strength improved I went on to running the 5k park run progressing to 10k events. This year, 2 years after starting the gym programme I successfully completed my first half marathon. I now no longer require the medication previously advised. My blood pressure and cholesterol are now healthy. Nuffield gave me and improved my confidence in exercise. The staff are amazing and still available post course for support and advice, particularly Lauren from Tunbridge Wells. The course gave participants the opportunity to explore all areas of the gym including the swimming pool and fitness classes in a friendly and inclusive way. We were encouraged with support to build our own training programme selecting areas of the gym we enjoyed whilst keeping a varied programme to work all areas of the body. We were also shown adaptations for any specific health needs. I was at a great risk of serious health problems which have been addressed with the support of Nuffield and my life has completely changed for the better.

I became a member at Nuffield Gym, Tunbridge Wells through the Joint Pain Programme. A friend told me about the programme and I was lucky enough to get a place. The programme gave me confidence to exercise the painful parts of my body. It also got me into the habit of going to the gym regularly. I think this particular gym is very welcoming and encouraging to all ages and abilities. The staff are always helpful and cheerful. There are a couple of negatives (that loses it its 5th star): the changing rooms are very tired, the swimming pool is small, often crowded and poorly supervised (e.g. slow swimmers use the fast lane, impeding fast swimmers) and most classes are full within 10 minutes of the booking opening at 7:00 am!

Joined as part of joint health programme, Lauren Sweeney. Never been to a Gym before and if anybody told me I would be 3 stone lighter, water bottle carrying gym bunny 3/4 times a week I would have laughed. This course probably saved my life. At age 69 discover very high blood pressure via health checks, so avoided stroke or death. Exercise and weight loss have meant hip and knees pain has disappeared. Cannot speak more highly of Lauren’s input and thank Nuffield for my good health and wellbeing.

Great Personal trainers especially Aaron, who has been instrumental inn helping me lose weight. Very good 20 Meter pool which if you go to at off peak times is normally fairly quiet. Gym is let down however by the state of the changing rooms, which are in need of modernizing

What’s to say, other than a very very very tired gym. So tired in fact, it still has the ‘esporta’ lockers from 2011!!!! Gym equipment is just as old with 1/3 of the floor being out of use…. Generally an unclean, sad effort of a health club that does not motivate or provide a sense on health and well-being. Swimming pool is another story, with broken tiles and sauna/steam and jacuzzi also generally broken. Despite sending numerous notes to customer services and centre manager, I’m yet to receive any replies. Head in the sand it seems. Why does Tunbridge Wells not have a health club that we can enjoy with our children??? Any recommendations please and we a desperate to find an alternative.

Very run down and needs an update. “Machines are 20+ years old and aren’t as effective as they should be” (mentioned by a gym staff member). Spa pools have been closed for 6 months, multiple facilities always out of order, tiles in the pool have come off all over and cleanliness in showers and changing rooms is very poor. Overall still charging the same price as though it was new and updated…

Personally my experience here was great. We went to the pool and the changing rooms were amazing. Spotless but the hair dyers weren't working. The pool itself was a great place to relax. Showers were lovely as they even provided body wash. Prices for goggles and other items were fair. Overall I would come here again to go to the pool.

Keep away from this gym! Its not good at all. The water in their swimming pool is infectious, I became unwell for nearly 2 weeks after my first swimming session at this gym! The equipment in their gym is like toys for kids! Save yourselves money and your health! It was my first and Last day at this gym. Will NOT recommend at all to my loved ones.

The pool is nice, warm and clean. The hot tubs again now they have been replaced are nice and warm, but have been out of action for technical reasons quite often. Gym floor however I’ve found has been badly laid out with very dated equipment. And not much of it really. The cleanliness isn’t too bad but now I have other facilities I’ve used to compare they are rather dirty, better at the start of covid but slipped back again. I’ve found another gym which is much better and half the price…as Nuffield gyms go it’s not a good one…
