I joined the Billingshurst Leisure Centre to use the gym. This is very local and convenient. Having checked the website for opening times I was pleased to see it was open until 10 pm everyday (see photo). Having a job and a young family coming in the evening was key. It turns out that the advertised times of the gym are in accurate and falsely advertised. The result, I have barely been able to use the gym. Most days closing at 9 pm. I have mentioned this false advertisement of the opening times on at least three occasions to the management team. No charge to their website. When I did manage to go to the gym, it has been so busy to be frustrating. Equipment being dominated by groups of people. Ive now cancelled my membership and joined a gym that this open 24 hours, is less than 1/2 the price, is three times and big and only 10 minutes drive. I wouldn’t recommend the Billingshurst Leisure Centre if you need late access as it is falsely advertised.

I have been doing lane swimming here, on and off, for about 2 months before deciding if I would join. Yesterday I was very disappointed as there were two lanes used for swimming lessons. I fully understand it is the summer holidays but put a note on the website how many lanes there are for lane swimming. Had I known I would have gone in the evening. I gave up after just 20 minutes as it was not feasible to swim. When I mentioned this at reception I got a "so what" attitude. Reception is the customer facing part of your business and their attitude is critical.

I love doing my lane swims at Billingshurst as everyone is very respectful of your abilities and friendly. The pool is small however this does not matter it is always kept clean and neat and well maintained. I have never had any issues with crowding.

On my last several recent visits, the gym has been so full that it’s no longer enjoyable, and barely even viable, to do a proper work out. Similarly the pool is only open for swimming for 1.5 hours twice during evenings Monday - Friday, with the rest of the time taken up by various classes. The staff are great, and if there was greater availability it’d be a nice local gym; but there’s not, and so the convenience of it being so local is completely lost.

Great local leisure centre, the staff are friendly, and the class instructors are amazing, the pool is warm and well maintained. Membership is great value and the whole place is cleaned frequently. I appreciate its out of their control but it would be nice to have more in day class sessions like Pilates/ combat - however being linked to the village secondary school the use of the sports hall is limited. Some classes like aqua fit can be very busy but overall lovely place to go for a workout/ swim

This review is not a reflection on the staff at the centre but the manager or management team who fail to respond to emails within their given time frame as stated on the website. I would expect a call back as I don’t see why in this day and age 7 days is an acceptable period of time to wait, especially as it is now well over this given time frame from yourselves. I do not expect to follow this up with a further email Simon. 3 days LATER and still no reply ? Staggering poor customer service appalling !

Finally managed to go swimming after a bit of illness. Pool was not too busy. I went just after 2pm. Lovely, warm and clean! Pool environment gets a 5 star. My only concern was the change rooms. A few I tried had dirty clumps of hair. The cleaner was throwing buckets of water down, but not sweeping the dirty hair away. After my swim, I checked the same change rooms - still had not been properly cleaned.

I can't say enough good things about this leisure centre - the staff are so friendly and polite, and the facilities are simple and so clean!! They have everything you need at reception to get started: costumes, swim caps, etc. By far the nicest and cleanest leisure centre I've been to. I'm going to be signing up for a swim membership tomorrow!

Some of the staff here are extremely nice and others not so much. For instance Whilst there were still people inside of the leisure centre, one of the managers went and locked the front door and when we went to ask a member of staff to open the doors the manager came in a mood and then rather rudely stated that they were closed only 15 minutes after the session was over. We were not the only family inside as other family's were still getting ready.
