Room was freezing. The windows don’t shut properly but they do offer a heater in the room and when you close curtains it keeps the heat inside so it’s not too bad. Loads of parking available and was quick service

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night as we attended a wedding 5 minutes drive away at Dodford Manor as it was perfect distance away. We arrived here around midday and had to be at the venue for 2pm so we weren’t able to check into our room as hadn’t paid for early check in and the room was still being cleaned so we left our car in the car park on site with our belongings to grab on our return. We did call the recommended taxi firm to get us to Dodford Manor but they wanted £30 for the 5 minute trip which is just too far to walk which seemed astronomical, luckily we checked Uber and managed to get one for £5.33 which was amazing although at the end of the wedding unfortunately there were no uber drivers in the area so we had to go with another taxi firm (Link Hire Taxis) which transported 11 of us in 2 trips in a mini bus to this hotel for £40 which at midnight was a good price. Unfortunately there was a bit of miscommunication with the day staff at the hotel and what was to happen with our room key as it wasn’t available for us to take as the room was being cleaned but on our return back to this hotel at midnight staff member Alan had stayed behind at the end of his shift to make sure we got our key and were able to get into our room without any issues, Alan was so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we weren’t left locked out of our room. Our room at the hotel was huge, plenty of storage space for clothes not that we needed it for 1 night, clean and tidy and a very comfy Bed which was 2 singles pushed together but had a topper to keep them together. This is an old hotel and yes you could say it could do with a lick of paint but that really doesn’t bother me, it was warm and cozy, the staff were friendly and the room was spacious and bed very comfy which are the most important things to me. It did appear to have a nice pub which also does food at the hotel but didn’t get a chance to try this. Would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

A very nice place to stay, not too busy and situated in a rural location not far from Daventry or even Northampton. Room was clean and not too warm or cold. Bed was comfortable and good pillows. Food choice was good and service was efficient and friendly. Will happily choose this location if i am in the area again

Our first impressions of the pub when walking in was that it was dirty and outdated. We tried to check in but the member of staff was unable to log on to the system and the only 2 people who could were not working so had to wait while someone logged in from home. All the staff need training in customer service with a smile although I guess it is pretty depressing working in a place like that. We cancelled the booking we had for an evening meal and found a lovely clean pub at the bottom of the road. The room we stayed in was at best okay - very outdated with a view of a roof. There was no hot water for a shower either when we got back at night or the following morning. On reporting it to a member of staff the following morning she said "Oh I'll have to get that looked at" - no apology or anything. We had prepaid for breakfast but this had to be checked as clearly no one was aware nor did they know which breakfast we had paid for. Wouldn't stay here again if you paid me.

The manager Stuart was fantastic! Very helpful and friendly - excellent customer service. The room itself is basic, could do with a “make over” such as new toilet seat, new shower tray and just a general clean. The windows do not stay open as they are sash windows which was difficult due to how hot it was and my husband suffers with epilepsy. A fan is available in the room which I had to clean before use due to the amount of dust on it. Overall happy with stay - it was a shower and bed for a friends wedding so didn’t have to be luxurious. 5 stars to Stuart who was very welcoming and would happily have a chat with us

Comfortable bed and functional room. Room was cold, central heating radiator was lukewarm; my nose and hands were frozen. Small plug in heater in room was on full and this took the chill out of the air. There was a layer of dust around perimeter of room that vacuuming missed. This could have been easily remedied by using vacuum attachment. En-suite bathroom with heated towelling rail. Bathroom was cold and would have benefitted blinds at the window. Basic complementary biscuits, good beverage selection though not the feeling the 'whole milk' provided. Breakfast was good.

Nice enough room and excellent staff, but the walls are paper thin in the room i stayed in so I won't be back as I barely slept at all thanks to the noisy lads in the next room

Doors could do with some adjustment so they do not slam and wake you up in the morning. No hash browns for breakfast as run out. £80 per night is a bit high. 2 main meals for 1 is great if there is 2 of you.

Staff were very friendly. The room was very spacious and the bed large and comfy. Breakfast was also good the next morning. I would definitely stay here again.
