   The wife and I had a late lunch and were welcomed with a smile despite it being busy. The atmosphere was amazing, a happy buzz of a wide cross section of society enjoying themselves. Another advantage of The George is that it's big enough to find a quiet space should you prefer. Lunch was delivered, quickly and is best described as exemplary. Hot and cooked to perfection, best pub chips I've had in a very long time. Taken with a good rainnge of drinks, not to mention value for money, we will certainly be back.

   I had a wonderful afternoon tea at the weekend with three of my friends and it was LOVELY! The food was incredible, more than enough to feed 4 of us and they kindly gave us a box to take away what we didn’t eat (my son loved the brownie) everything was lovely, home made and delicious. The staff were lovely, happy and helpful. Hope this continues as it really is a lovely afternoon. Thank you so much, we will be back again soon.

   Lovely local for a proper traditional Sunday Lunch. During the week double stack the renowned 'George burger' - trust me they make them delicious. The George has run the best cellar in Dereham for the last 20 years. Great focus on clean drinking ale and lagers.

   Had a lovely breakfast last Sunday morning. We arrived about 10am and were told that there would be a 20 minute wait for the food. Our order was taken and drinks were served promptly. When the food arrived (all cooked to order) it was well worth the wait. The food was fresh, tasty and very good value for money. The service was faultless, nothing was too much trouble and the staff were all very friendly, helpful and attentive despite it being a hot, busy day. Well done to you all.

   We needed a dog friendly over night stay and would highly recommend The George for both the hotel and restaurant. Rooms had everything we needed and were clean and spacious. The dogs were made to feel welcome and although breakfast was not included, the evening meal and Sunday lunch we enjoyed in the dog friendly restaurant more than made up for that. Was perfect for what we needed, whilst visiting the local area.

   *This is a food only review* The George hotel Dereham provided food for my father in laws wake. The food was amazing and the service was absolutely top class. Nothing was too much for the staff. They were very helpful and compassionate. They made a really hard day so much easier to cope with. Thank you again.

   Went for Sunday dinner, it was delicious. I had roast beef, cooked to perfection, and well presented. Staff is very pleasant and attentive. Good balance between serving and letting customers relax. Definitely worth a visit, and we will be going back.

   Had a lovely stay whilst we were visiting to go on the Polar Express, which is just a 10 minute walk away so ideal location for that and near all the shops/high street. Lovely clean and comfortable room, staff very friendly, tasty breakfast - we are hoping to come again next year!

   Warm friendly welcome, fantastic room with a four poster bed which we were not expecting. We had organised a special lunch on the Saturday for our family and friends to celebrate my parents lives. Nothing was too much trouble for Stuart and his staff. Food was so delicious and large portions. Would recommend booking at The George Hotel if you are visiting Dereham, you will not be disappointed.
