   Such a beautiful location and lodge couldn’t be happier with the facilities. So much nature, beautiful walks. Clean, welcoming and homely. Great kitchen to cook in. Hot big shower, comfortable beds, and great Tv.

   Wonderful accommodation and a wonderful host. They have really thought of everything inside the cabins... air con for the hot days, books , games and dvds in case of wet days. The welcome pack of teas, coffees etc lasts a week. The kitchen was full of everything you could need to self cater. We stayed in brambles , it was very disabled friendly with a ramp , assistance bars in the bathrooms ,a shower seat and raised loo seat with a bar frame if needed.You don't have to leave the sofa to watch the deer , rabbits and birds but there is a hide and lovey woodland walks. Would highly recommend

   Simply a delightful place to spend time. We had 6 days spent with family ( who occupied the other 2 cabins ) and were able to socialise, eat and spend quality time together in each others cabins which whilst not that far apart were all very private from each other. Plenty of wildlife including Muntjack deer, birds of prey, rabbits galore and all the normal garden birds,all of which you can view from the cabin. Leigh ( the owner ) was lovely and has set up the cabins with all you could wish for ( Including an air con system that was much appreciated as it was warm during our stay.) We were able to charge our electric car at the cabins own electric charging point at a very reasonable rate. So much thanks for a wonderful stay and family memories that will last for a long time...It will be a delight to return some time in the future.

   We spent a week in the Burnside lodge. It was close to the woods, which was populated by muntjacs, squirrels, rabbits and bats, all of which visited us throughout our stay. There is a huge variety of birds around. The lodge had everything we needed and was comfortable and the air conditioning was a great bonus in the wonderful weather. The lodge was spotless and the support from Leigh was excellent but subtle. Locally there is plenty to do and some great places to eat. We shall be back!

   We have just had a wonderful four night stay in Burnside Lodge at Alderwood Lodges and we had an amazing time. The lodge is very secluded and private with beautiful countryside views, with wildlife including deer, rabbits, garden birds and squirrels seen every day which was absolutely great! The lodge is very well equipped with everything you need for a perfect relaxing and recharging stay. From the wonderful welcome from Leigh to our last walk with our dog along the river through the stunning grounds, it was fantastic from start to finish. Our dog loved every minute and we loved how dog friendly the lodge was! We have booked our next stay before leaving and cannot wait to be back. 150% recommended!

   Just returned from a very enjoyable getaway from it all 7 night break here. Greeted by a very pleasant and caring owner, making us very welcome and explaining how everything in the lodge worked. This is one of the very best woodland settings myself and my family have stayed. The lodge was very warm and comfortable having everything and more. Will not hesitate to recommend.

   Wow.... We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Alderwood lodges. What a fantastic location and absolutely 5 star! Leigh goes more than just an extra mile to ensure that everything is perfect even to the point of loaning my wife Jayne a pair of her mothers wellies:-) The kitchen has everything needed to produce hearty food after a walk through the woods along the banks of the onsite river. The bird hide is fantastic and perfect to catch glimpses of the elusive deer along with squirrels, rabbits and birdlife. We have enjoyed our break so much that we have already booked two more visits to this beautiful location. Thank you so much Leigh and see you soon. Steve, Jayne and Choy

   Have just returned from a lovely relaxing stay in Burnside lodge. The lodge was spotlessly clean, comfortable and has air conditioning in the living area which we appreciated on arrival on a very hot day. Leigh provides all those little items which most self catering hosts don't such as foil, cling film and enough dishwasher tablets!The best thing for us about Alderwood Lodges is the wonderful setting, with just 3 lodges just yards from woodland walks by a little river and nicely separated so you feel as you have almost got your own private place. That is apart from the muntjac deer we saw every day and the family of rabbits sunbathing just by the decking. Leigh is always ready to help if needed and we were very sorry when we came to the end of our stay.
