I have stayed in rooms connected to pubs before, and they are usually a bit tired, slightly odd but cheap & cheerful. On this front, The Stables did not disappoint! We hired three rooms, and got 4, 5, and 6. All were different; 4 was a stuffy box with only 1 window which is right up in the eves and about as big as a sheet of A4, so no chance of seeing the view, or letting in fresh air (also, good luck if there is a fire in hallway!). 6 was slightly bigger, but not by much, and made to feel even smaller by a large wardrobe taking up most of the floor space and making the room feel oppressive. 5 was the best room, bigger and more spacious than the others with a large window, but strangely no wardrobe. All three bathrooms smelled of mildew and the showers and sinks looked like they have not seen Mr Muscle for a while, and the rooms in general seemed a bit grubby. Free WiFi is advertised on signs in all the rooms, but the advertised network name is nowhere to be found, even after scanning from several devices in different locations. The biggest crime of all though, was the fact the sign on the front wall clearly states "B&B", but no breakfast was offered. We were just directed to the nearest Asda when we asked about breakfast!

Such a great stay for the night, the staff are so welcoming and lovely! The room we stayed in was lovely too, nice and warm with a cute tea and coffee station. Included all the necessities however no body wash or shampoos (not a big deal if you bring your own). The pub is attached to the building and the atmosphere is great. Overall lovely place for a lovely price!

So I’ve fallen on extremely hard times, I’d lost my job and then shortly after I was made homeless, all within a week, I was sleeping in my car until I scraped £65 together to pay for a room with a real bed, which by the way was like nothing I’d slept on before. After I rang to book a room I met one of the generous owners outside the property, I was welcomed warmly, I explained my situation and told the owner I was so grateful for them taking cash, as I had sold my games console in order to pay for the room. This is where I was blown away by the kindness and generosity of the owners of The Stables at The George Inn. Firstly they knocked £5 off of the price, leaving me with enough money for something for dinner. When I went into detail about what I had been through the past week she asked where I would be staying on the Sunday night as the council offices opened on Monday. I never expected free accommodation, and asked permission to sleep in my car in their car park as it has CCTV and is in a nice quiet village so I wouldn’t get any trouble. These amazing people, sent from god, have suggested that if they have any spare rooms the following night, I could stay free of charge, in order to be well rested for my appointment with the housing team on the Monday, but of course, I will not forget these amazing people, and I have said that once I am back on my feet I will pay them back plus any kind of added cost for the inconvenience, the people that own this place are probably some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They have saved me at least one night of sleeping in my car and I’ve never been more grateful. If your considering visiting Wellingborough or anywhere in Northamptonshire I would highly recommend The stables at The George, not only are the owners deserving of the business, but you also deserve a friendly face after a long day, along with a great nights sleep in the perfectly balanced modern yet also vintage room that you booked, guaranteed to feel relaxed after staying here. There’s no hustle and bustle in the street out side as your in a small village just outside of Wellingborough, walking distance to a supermarket

Was fine, but earplugs are a must as the dividing walls seem to amplify sounds from other rooms. I could hear every single word of the quiet conversation the next room were having this morning. The shower was really good, but no shampoo or shower gel which felt really strange - luckily I had from another stay elsewhere. I checked in through the bar which was easy. I believe if you book direct you can have a dinner and a drink included.

£3.50 a pint during the weeknights - has been a favourite haunt of mine from years ago and it's great to see it staying open and being run well! Great atmosphere in this pub.

Very reasonable price , room is comfortable, good shower, lovely view over the fields. Tea and coffee provided. Evening meal included rather than brekkie, but this is a pub, so that makes sense. Staff are friendly and attentive. Good bar, nice garden, and frankly compare the prices to the national chains and there is no doubt that you would stay here first and foremost.
