Now, the hotel itself, they say it's a 2-star establishment. But let me assure you, the moment you walk in, that star rating feels like a gross underestimation. The ambiance, the decor, it all gives off the air of a place that should boast at least an extra star by its name. It's a classic example of not judging a book by its cover. The dining area and bar are what I'd call an oasis of tranquility. Spacious, yet intimate enough to make one feel cozy and undisturbed. A perfect spot to unwind after a day of hustle and bustle. And would you believe it, I had my folding bike with me, quite the conundrum at most places, but not for Gayle. She whisked it away and secured it without so much as a second thought. It's little touches like this, the understanding of a traveler's needs, that truly set Oak House apart. The rooms, oh, the rooms! Each one came with a tea and coffee set, a small gesture that speaks volumes. The comfort of being able to brew your own beverage whenever the need strikes is something I cherish deeply. And for those who indulge in tobacco's embrace, fear not. The hotel has a smoking area at the back, complete with a canopy to shield you from the elements. They understand that some needs don't adhere to the clock's whims. But the pièce de résistance, the crowning jewel of the Oak House experience, is Gayle's tour. “We stayed at the Aviator in August and loved just about everything about it. We received a very nice welcome and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious, well appointed and comfortable. It was also quiet. The art deco fittings and decor thought the hotel are beautiful and very well preserved. Food was very good. The wine was very reasonably priced and the two locally brewed beers were dangerously moreish! Set beside a not too busy flying club the grass area outside of the hotel was an ideal spot for a pre dinner drink. This hotel is great value for money and well worth a visit.”

“Stayed here one night while on business in the area. Room was fantastic bed was very comfy and the shower was brilliant. Check was excellent the lady there was very helpful. Car park is very small and if you’re not careful you will get blocked in, just bear it in mind. Can imagine it gets rowdy at the weekend as it bang in the centre, but mid week was fine and I slept well.”

“A nice close but not too far hotel from Santa Pod Raceway. I thought it was very reasonable for the price paid. It had a decent shower, that got plenty hot for my liking, and the bed was plenty comfy as well. If I was being extremely picky, they are on the smaller side if 2 of you are in the same room. But it is rather cosy!”

“We've being bringing our cat here for a couple of years now. We love the professionalism of the owners; vet records must be up to date and seen, keeps all our cats safe. The units are big, spotless clean and have toys/boxes to play with. Opening times are good - morning and evening very helpful. Sarah & Rupert are very helpful, super friendly and committed to the cats in thier care. We love seeing our cat on Social Media posts too!”

“Both our furbabies were nervous when dropped off, however they soon settled well. The chalets are comfortable, heated/air conditioned, with multiple areas for them to roam around/ play in. They enjoyed plenty of interaction, and fusses from the owners, Sue and Alan. They were well looked after. Would definitely recommend and would visit again.”

“Such a great stay for the night, the staff are so welcoming and lovely! The room we stayed in was lovely too, nice and warm with a cute tea and coffee station. Included all the necessities however no body wash or shampoos (not a big deal if you bring your own). The pub is attached to the building and the atmosphere is great.
