I am writing to share feedback regarding my recent spa visit last week. Last year, I visited your spa with a group of five for a twilight package, and we had an exceptional experience. The spa manager at the time, Maryam, ensured we received a truly five-star experience. She regularly checked on us, made sure we were comfortable, and created a very welcoming and professional atmosphere. It was an experience that left a lasting positive impression on all of us. Unfortunately, our recent visit did not meet the same standard. The spa team member assisting us, Lucy, appeared dry and unprofessional, and we did not feel welcomed upon arrival. No one was available to show us around the spa facilities, and throughout our time by the pool, several empty glasses were left unattended. We were also not approached to check if we needed anything, which made the experience feel neglected. I wanted to share this feedback as it is disappointing to see such a noticeable decline in service, especially after such a positive previous experience. It is a shame that the previous manager is no longer with the spa, as her leadership clearly made a difference. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback.

Its a liitle hidden gem. Easily overlooked when driving. Well worth a visit. Its winter time as of the review, lovely warm real fires. Good food, friendly staff. They had a real ale option. Food was very good. Expected prices. The room i had, lacked some nice pictures, bathroom not great. Was fine though. The Spar is very impressive. Was too cold outside for me. This time of year. Recommended for a short stay, unless you are exploring. The grounds are lovely. The decor is very nice.

I think this place for stuck in 2004. A great building but seriously needs and good designer to give the rooms and communal spaces an up to date look and feel. It could be up there with a Pig hotel, but is somehow stuck in 2004. Food: I don’t think I’ve ever had chicken Milanese with new potatoes before!!

Lovely hotel, amazing spa with outdoor hydropool and plunge pool. But they have crazy terms for us of the Spa by guests it can only be used one for up to 3 consecutive hours …. So if it gets busy whilst you’re there, you don’t have the option of leaving and coming back. The service was a bit hit and miss. Reception team were a tad rude and more interested in chatting amongst themselves. The bar and restaurant staff were amazing.

Such a lovely stay in this hotel cannot fault it at all. Room was perfect we had booked a standard double and it seemed so much more than that, unsure if we were upgraded but seemed very spacious for a standard. Free standing bath was amazing, had double sinks and a spacious shower too. The spa was lovely it was peaceful and relaxing, staff were very welcoming and polite, had 2 coffees in there which were lovely. Made use of all spa facilities which were in good condition, not overcrowded at all which was nice. Provided robes, slippers and towels in the locker you are given. The hotel was clean and looked so lovely, we had breakfast in the morning which is great value for what you can get, I made good use of the hot drinks machine. Overall amazing hotel, friendly staff, would definitely recommend. Thank you.

Stayed at Barton Hall Hotel & Spa for just one night and it was fabulous! We were attending a dinner dance at wicksteed park ballroom otherwise we would have dined at Barton Hall. Fabulous stay, beautiful room and furnishings were exquisite. The staff were so friendly and made our stay extra special. We even had a tour of the spa by a lovely lady and we will be going back soon to use the spa and stay&dine. Highly recommend you visit...really beautiful property and managed excellently. Thank you team at Barton Hall. Sara

Our overall stay was fine. The staff were friendly and polite and our room was beautiful. I must say the food was truly shocking. We both felt that everything we were served was verging on inedible. My game terrine starter was not a terrine, more like pate, and was the texture of dog food. My fillet was very poor quality and very poorly cooked; it was like sawdust. The cheeseboard was a poor selection of Tesco type cheeses and overpriced; the cheeses were all freezing and straight from the fridge - a rookie error showing that the kitchen have no idea what they are doing. Breakfast was just fine. The spa was also a terrible experience; I asked for a robe on arrival and was advised you only receive a robe if you are having a treatment so we walked around outside in 2° in our swimwear freezing cold. I have been to many a spa in my life and have never not been given a robe and slippers on arrival. We were dripping through the hallways and dragging dirt from outside in on our feet where we were wet; I just cannot get my head around it. We booked 3 weeks prior to arrival and I wasn't able to get a booking for a massage. You should be able to get an appointment as a guest of the hotel, that is what we went to a spa hotel for. A clear indication that you need more staff. After spending an hour in the spa I am glad I did not waste my hard earned money on a treatment. I will not be returning.

Came here for a work event. The rooms were really nice and warm. Check in for the 30 of us was very organised. We had dinner in a private room, I didn't enjoy dinner, the vegan option did not agree with me and I was sick later that night. Breakfast was much better, though the only alternative milk option was almond. I would return for the rooms but not for the food.

I had my wedding here and honestly cannot recommend enough. It is such a unique venue and all my guests were wowed ! The staff are so friendly and go above and beyond for you. I can't thank Shelley and Charlie enough for making my day go so smoothly. Shelley became a friend and couldn't have done it without her. Thank you so much can't wait to come back and stay next year ! Xxx

Came to Barton Hall for an event so only saw the room the event was held in which was lovely for the amount of adults and children attending. The staff were very accommodating. Food (an outside barbecue) at the event was delicious. All in all a great venue for a party/wedding/corporate event.
