   The food was really good. We had the Christmas burger with brie and cranberry sauce (the sauce was on the side). Really good burger and nice chips, with a side of slaw. However, what really blew me away was the call I received from the manager, within 15 mins of me returning home - telling me that I had left my coat at the restaurant that they had put it in a safe place for me to collect. I have eaten in nice restaurants across the world and whilst the food is important, it is the service that counts and the Shinfield Arms delivered on that.

   Beautiful and cosy gastropub. Good food and desserts. Limited range of cask ales but there are always at least a couple to choose from. The outdoor area is very comfortable and ideal for groups. Lovely service

   Friendly pub with great food, beer and service. We bumped into the last few days of the celebration deal that the kitchen reopened - so we tried lots of dishes!! The outside space looks good for the summer but my colleague and I had a good natter over dinner in the cosy bar

   Great pub and brilliant staff. Had the best night and the bonus of a quiz. Ok we came 2nd last but who cares when your having fun. Manager was super helpful when there was an error on our booking, which she resolved. Our waitress was a delight and was always smiling. Great pub, great staff, great food. Why are you reading this, go to the pub and see for yourself xxx

   Stopped in on a long car drive for dinner and let me just say the place is lovely place! The sausage and mash was delicious, and I would seriously recommend. I also got the double bacon cheeseburger, and was sadly disappointed. I really wanted to like it but I found it quite dry. Other than that, everything else was fantastic.

   We ate there last night and had some good food and drink. The dishes on the menu were really varied and plenty of choice. We tried the confit duck and the ham and chicken pie as well as some desserts. My only comment would be that pie would have benefited from more meat in it and a thicker sauce as I was left trying to scoop it out of the dish with a knife and fork. It was tasty though, so not bad. It was a little cold on the feet to be outside but the heaters worked pretty well for the upper half. The service was good too. I would try it again indeed!

   Stunning eatery with a traditional pub feel located just outside Reading so you don’t have to deal with Reading traffic. Staff are extremely friends and their is a wide selection of pub favourites, vegan options and alternatives. A true heritage pub of 500 years, there are booths and couches in the dining space, a welcoming bar and outside seating. Highly recommended the Apple Pie and custard when you finish your mains!

   If you are looking for a pub with a really good garden kind of out of the main town centre, this is the place to go. I discovered this place way before when it’s still called the Black Boy. I love the vibe and their food is great! Staff were very accommodating as well First time to try the mountain ribs and we thought we can finish it, dare you we didn’t! It is good at least for 3 to 4 people! It comes with chips and coleslaw too! Lots of choices from the menu. Variety of drinks as well
