Had our Christmas lunch here yesterday. 30 people and it was superb service and the food was amazing, piping hot and very tasty. Would definitely recommend The Angel, lovely atmosphere and great all round pub/restaurant and all at reasonable prices. Thank you from all at Watermill Court
We chose the angel to hold the wake yesterday, for the loss of our mother. We honestly couldn't have asked for more and are so happy we went here. Andy is an absolutely lovely, welcoming guy who was so intent to do whatever we wanted and made us feel so 'looked after'. The food was incredible and atmosphere of the function room and the bar are warm cozy. We aim to return for drinks by the fire and roasts on some Sundays! Thank you team much appreciated x
Lovely place with plenty of options. Enough free sparking spaces and lovely outdoor garden with live music at the end of every month on Saturday. The food looks great and tastes nice and there are plenty of drinks options. Service is friendly with no fuss and quite welcoming. Take a friend, family members or just enjoy a decent atmosphere on your own, it’s a place to revisit for sure.
After hearing a lot about the food at this pub, having only been here briefly once in the past for a few drinks I decided to finally pop in for some food, with similar menu prices to other pubs I was not expecting anything special but boy was I wrong, I ordered the Bacon & Cheese potato skins, BBQ chicken strips and the Salt & Pepper chips with curry sauce, this was 2 starters and a side dish but when it arrived looked as though I’d been given 3 meals, all of it was absolutely amazing, well worth the price and I will definitely be going here again, for all 3 of these it was just over £20. The service was lovely, the bartenders extremely helpful and the waitress also extremely helpful and attentive, this is definitely somewhere you need to go if you haven’t already or even if you’re just passing through.
Had a lovely meal on Sunday, food was lovely I personally think there should be a few more options for the carvery (more veg options, mash potato) but again good was lovely. Bar lady was lovely too very accomodating I had a 148mile drive home and my phone was about to die and she happily put it on charge for me! A lovely evening to have a well deserved catch up with the girls before Christmas ❤️
The Angel hosted the wake for a family funeral and provided a delicious afternoon tea in their private function room. The food and service were very good indeed. They provided vegan options for those guests that required them (ordered in advance) and if I had to make one suggestion would just say that to label which were the vegan options would be ideal, so that the non vegans didn't eat them all! The tea was really delicious and the pub is an attractive venue in a convenient area. Thank you.

Was recommended to visit this place for lunch by one of the locals as we were visiting from London for the weekend and staying up the road. We had sautéed mushrooms starter, beef Wellington and rib eye steak for mains. Absolutely fantastic food, well made, well presented and well eaten. Staff are very friendly and fitted us in without a booking. Would highly recommend this establishment for anyone visiting the area
The venue is great, friendly staff. The portion sizes were good and the desserts were nice. We ordered the roast, which was a huge disappointment. All 3 types of meats were very dry and over cooked. It's a nice place for a drink or dessert!
