"There were 11 of us who got together for a Christmas meal and the evening was perfect. Food and service were great, and having our own separate area was an added bonus. Praise must also go to the kitchen staff who managed so many covers on the night. Our meals came out together and were excellent. I really can’t fault anything. Thank you all!"
Went for lunch with friends friendly bar staff and a great set up to eat. We all had 3 courses and they were all good. Although 2 of us had the leg of lamb unfortunately mine had no leg and very little meat. Mostly skin. I know I should of complained but we all had a good time just the actual meat on my plate was poor.

We had a wonderful meal. We travelled for over two hours for a family meal and the staff made it feel special. The food is always great here and it remains a family favourite for special occasions. My only improvement would be the size of the kids meals which were a little too small. Puddings were fab. Every one of us enjoyed the food which was well cooked and served beautifully. Service was impeccable.
I honestly cannot fault this place. The food is heavenly, staff are perfect, and vibes are immaculate! On a hot day enjoy your food and drinks by the beautiful canal, on a cold day enjoy them inside the cosy restaurants with the fire. I genuinely could not name a nicer restaurant/ pub if I tried. The only problem is my bank account because I can’t stop coming here for the gorgeous food! Although I would say reasonably priced for the quality you get.
Staff were very attentive, warm and efficient. The food was excellent! Overall had a good time. Went back recently and it is still as good as before. It can get busy so I suggest booking ahead but the food is excellent! I had the fish cakes and they are marvelous. The vegetarian pie was also very good(I forget the name) and the mushroom and miso soup was absolutely delicious. The hot waffle is mouth wateringThis is our second time and the food did not disappoint. 10/10
Came to the Rowbarge for lunch with a couple of friends after a bike ride. Picked mainly for the location, but turned out to have really good food and some excellent local ales too. Probably would have given 5 * but the fact that service for people having lunch outside was minimal, but this is just a minor gripe - I would still recommend it highly for a casual but good quality pub lunch or supper.
Visited twice this weekend, first time for a meal and secondly for just a drink. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Very good vegetarian selection. Beautiful setting on the canal with plenty of towpath to walk off the food! Dog area outside.
Wow, a great place for a meal. Lovely staff, location and food. There are not enough signs to direct the customers, where to go or whom to contact to get seated for tables. It's a little bit unorganised but I must admit very lovely food. The portion size is smaller than I thought for the price you pay. Highly recommended to families and anyone.
Lovely country pub. Has the canal running side it. Big space inside. Nice country pub feel with wooden ceiling beams etc. The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive. Service was prompt. We sat for a Sunday roast dinner. As far as pub roasts go, it was a very reasonable standard. The festive Mulled Wine was a treat as well. Very nice. We will definitely recommend to anyone. And definitely return ourselves.
