Overall, a satisfactory hotel. The building is quite old, but the rooms are cozy and warm. You might expect a bit more from a four-star hotel, but overall itβs a great place, especially for its location and the beautiful view over Aberdeen.

The location is perfect, the staff is friendly and rooms are fine, not as luxurious as it may look. However, the breakfast is a recipe of death. I understand that it is Scotland and British breakfast is a thing, but we are in 2025 and not everyone can eat fried oily fatty and greasy food every morning. There are out there some people who appreciate a healthy breakfast and the food servied is inedible, only fat and sugar. Would recommend at least serving hard boiled eggs along side of the oily fried ones and some fresh cucumbers or tomatoes.

The location is great and the staff is very friendly. Everything else, however, is very poor for a 4-star hotel. The hotel is not well maintained, noisy, furniture is falling apart, etc. I would not even consider it a 3-star. The floors in room 402 are sliding to one side, something I have never seen in my whole life! The price is cheap compared to other hotels, but the reason is evident. If this is the service that will be provided, it must become a 2 or 3 stars so guests are not misled.

Directly opposite the front are two clubs - Revolution that closes at 2am and another that closes at 4am (during the week). The noise levels at the front of the hotel are insanely loud, which is a shame as the rest of it is okay - decent centre location and sound staff. If it wasnβt for the staff, the decent breakfast and comfy beds this would be getting a 2 star review. If they could invest in triple glazing at the front and itβll be 5 star all the way. One of the staff members said the rooms at the rear and internal rooms are silent. Two of my colleagues can confirm this. They were at the rear. If you want a decent sleep - DO NOT GET A ROOM AT THE FRONT. Iβll be back, at the back! Shame as itβs a great view from the font. Three stars being generous- Iβm probably over tired.

Stayed here on 12/08/2026 for work and would stay again. Very friendly and helpful staff when I had issues with my key. Incredible location right across from Union Terrace Garden and not on the main road so quiet. Slightly down the road from Sugar Bird Wines which is a must visit. Room was good size for myself and clean, comfortable and had a great sleep Thank you, George

I went for business travel, arrived very late and was amazed at the service I received during my short overnight stay. Staff are so welcoming and friendly, the hotel was very clean, and the food from room service far surpassed my expectation - everything was delicious, fresh and well presented (pictured). Breakfast was a fairly standard array, but the quality of the produce and how it was cooked was excellent. Asked for a quiet room and/or a bath and got both. I think for the price that the room was well appointed and it was comfortable. You could see they were decorating the hallways, so despite the age of the property, it is being maintained and cared for. If I have to go to Aberdeen again, I'll be heading here to stay, for sure.

Room was stinking of stale cigarette smoke. Informed the staff but nothing was done about it. Water was cold. Only realised when we had a shower and realised it wasn't hot. Complained and was told the boiler had broken and it was getting fixed ASAP! No one informed the guests staying though. Bed sheets were clean but bottom of divan base bed was all stained and the walls could do with a proper paint not just the odd touch up. Crack in ceiling also which hasn't been repaired. Won't be staying again in a hurry after my room smelling of stale cigarettes and nothing done about it.

Booked this hotel because of close proximity to the theatre. Very impressed with the room. We stayed in the "Gordon Suite", which was a large room overlooking Union Terrace gardens. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with lovely high ceilings. Check-in was very efficient. Ecxcellent location being just a short walk after the show at the theatre. Had a few drinks in the hotel bar afterwards and lovely breakfast in the morning.

Not great. Our room was very tired. It felt a bit like staying at a relatives in the 90's than a hotel, some evidence of damp in the bed room, worn carpeting, marks on the walls, old fashioned step in bath type shower with shower curtain too short so the water landed on the ground, some old mouldy grouting, rusty pipes ... all a little tired and a bit grim grim. The heating couldn't really be controlled it was either off or boiling, Bed a bit old and lumpy (like myself). The parking was full when we got there and we had to park elsewhere. They had already managed to annoy us before we arrived as when we phoned from the car on the way to the hotel to find out where the parking was ... no one answered, even after phoning several times. We had a standard room ... maybe other rooms where better. The location is good but I suspect there are better value hotels in Aberdeen and I wouldn't recommend this one. Staff were nice, breakfast good but pretty standard.

First of all, the room is very small and decor is outdated. Until 12:00 midnight, itβs still noisy outside. The lobby area wasnβt clean, either. I failed to understand how itβs categorized as a 4 star hotel. All premier Inn I used have higher standards. The breakfast itself is basic but not bad. The worst experience is when my daughter and I checked out, the receptionist said I needed to make payment. I explained to her the breakfast and room stay were both prepaid. When I checked in, your staff confirmed it as well. However, I was hold to wait for their check, even though I showed them my payment which clearly marked the breakfast is included and paid. I will never choose this hotel again.
