   I visited yesterday when the store was very busy. We had to go to the very top of the car park to find a parking space. The store was very busy throughout our visit. We shopped for about an hour before heading to the restaurant. The queue for food was all the way to the back of the dining hall. There were no trollies available for food trays which made things extremely difficult. After a long wait we managed to get our food and drinks, and found a table. It was very hard to get cutlery in the restaurant to eat our food. We checked numerous stations and asked staff but we were unsuccessful many times before a lady was finally able to get us some. By this point some time had passed which meant our food had cooled down. After this we went back to shopping. When we finally reached the lower levels there were no trollies available. We kept on having to go back to the area and check to see if they had been restocked. After we managed to get our items we made our way to the tills. Once again there was a long wait, a number of the tills were not in use and/or out of service. I was disappointed at the introduction of self service tills only in the food shop, there was no staff member present at all in this area. At the bistro, after placing an order for a drink and ice cream, the cold drinks machine stopped serving milkshakes. I thought this area of IKEA, around the tills, food shop and bistro was considerably more messy, shabby and untidy than the rest of the store. There was a lot of general mess all over the area, bits of broken crockery, cardboard, mud, receipts, food scraps etc. I really noticed the difference from the rest of the store. I visited the toilets as you enter the store and the toilets in the restaurant area, these were both very clean. I also visited the toilets on the way out after paying and they were very different. There was a lot of mess in the cubicles and there were very dirty and unclean compared the other toilets at the store. The travelators from level 2 to level 4 were switched off when we left and there was a long wait for the lifts. There was heavy traffic and congestion throughout the day.

   Honestly, I went in for a sofa and left with a full belly, a new rug, and existential questions about flat-pack assembly. The highlight? Those legendary Swedish meatballs. Juicy, saucy, and somehow comforting enough to make you forget you’ve been walking in circles for an hour. 10/10 would get lost again just for lunch. IKEA, you’ve meatballed your way into my heart.

   Nice large clean Ikea. Well organized and they have a great as is section as well. The restaurant upstairs is always a good deal. Too bad about having to pay for parking.

   IKEA Southampton is a standout destination for home furnishings conveniently situated on West Quay Road within Southampton’s city centre. As one of the UK’s larger IKEA branches, it spans four floors and approximately 34,000 m² of space—a rare urban-scale format in the IKEA chain. The store is huge, spread over several floors, and is packed with inspiration at every turn. I love how the showrooms are set up like real homes — it makes it so easy to imagine how things will look in your own space. There’s a great selection of furniture, home accessories, kitchenware, and even plants, all with that signature Scandinavian style and at very reasonable prices. One of the highlights is the restaurant and there’s always something tasty whether you’re in the mood for a hot meal or a quick snack. The view from the restaurant is lovely too. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the store is well organised, so even though it’s big, it’s easy to find your way around. Parking is convenient, with plenty of spaces, and you get free parking for a few hours if you spend over a certain amount. Overall, IKEA Southampton is more than just a shop — it’s a fun day out where you can get great ideas, enjoy good food, and find everything you need for your home in one place.

   Such versatile stuff. Love going but do find it difficult to locate what I've seen I the market area. The main warehouse is easy. Had a return and it was sorted out quickly and without fuss.

   Literally in love with this place. You can find everything for the home at affordable prices. It's best if you sign up for the family membership so you can get discount. I also love the IKEA Caffe. The food here is soooo good, no wonder there is always a long queue, but it's definitely worth it. My favourite is the cheese cake and sponge cake with a cup of coffee. Perfect to recharge before continuing with shopping. You also get 3 hours of free parking if you spend £30+.

   A really nice store spread over 4 floors. Has a good sized restaurant on the top floor, served by lifts and a mixture of stairs and escalators. You might be waiting a long time for lifts especially at busy times. Customer toilets are also available. The store has the usual IKEA products, will take you longer than expected unless you know your way around. The car park has easy access to the store in each level. There is EV charging on the ground level served by Grid Serve. 3 hours free parking for customers buying up to £30 in store otherwise there is a £2.50 charge, more if you stay longer. Access and exit to the car park is very tight in places so be careful. Tall vehicles can park on the ground level.

   I know that IKEA is a bit like Marmite. Well I love it! Always look forward to my visit. Southampton is my local / nearest branch. Parking and access is always easy and most things in stock. Store is always clean and tidy and staff are friendly. Nice views from the restaurant and car park. Always good value for money!
