Really enjoyable Sunday lunch at The Argyle. Went for the sharing roast in the giant Yorkshire pudding and everything was really tasty and fresh. Really good service as well, washed down with some nice beer. See you again soon.

Probably the worst experience I've had in recent time in a pub or restaurant. I was recommended from a friend who I had visited in this village. Looking forward to trying a local pub with local food I walked in, however I was thrown back by the extremely loud tacky commercial aggressive pop music being played throwing me outside my zen energy, (the pub was almost empty as it was afternoon on a weekday), I attempted to try and communicate with the bar staff however was totally ignored like a ghost. As I returned with my friend I was again ignored by the bar staff again. My friend was attempting to order what seemed like extremely overpriced food with the QR code in an empty pub. I thought let me go to the bar and order it in person. I also wanted to ask where the chicken or meat was sourced. A young man came out tired and disinterested, basically saying the chicken is bought wholesale from a wholesale chain and they have no idea where the chicken is from. Then a young blonde lady came out and was incredibly rude and hostile just saying what are you doing here why is your car parked outside. We had parked our car temporarily and then parked it back in the main car park. I couldn't believe how bad the service was I couldn't believe how overpriced the food was and how awful the music was. The only thing I can say is that this is a blessing in disguise because we opted to go to a persian restaurant next door which served some pretty great food at a high standard at about the same price as this tacky pub. The young lady was exceptionally hostile for no apparent reason I felt so unwanted and almost abused entering the place. Worst experience ever.

Not eaten here so no comment, but I'd imagine the nosebag is decent. Harvey's Sussex Bitter is the go to beer here and a classic. Budvar too and other decent beers with Amstel, Birra Moretti, Cruzcampo etc for those who drink the label and have to have it on their glass.

The only thing I could recommend in this place is the choice of music. They serve canteen food that looks pathetic and tastes like itβs been cooked and laid around for a while (burger patty not fresh). Atrocious customer service, male manager intentionally showing us his attitude, he made a scene out of 4 pieces of tortillas, quite unnecessary really, understood you guys were enjoying a lazy evening until we turned up to an empty pub, but you were open so itβs not our fault.

Chose this place on basis of previous online recommendations, and they allow dogs. Wednesday around 1345 it wasn't too busy. Staff were very helpful and cheerful. Food really was very good as was the Guiness. Doggy treats on the bar. Tables were cleared and clean. Service was prompt and courteous, with minimal waiting for food ordered. Had a welcoming feel. Really enjoyed the experience.

Best Sunday lunch, I've ever had, we had a Sunday Lunch Share. The beef was tasty, just a little tough, the Lamb was tasty and succulent, the Pork was outstanding. A must visit for food. Preferably book a table.

Really could have gone with more staff. However good range of cask and keg beer, plus several ciders. Nice pub none the less.

Just come out of here and left very stuffed and happy. We were only the 2nd table occupied (around 2.30pm on a Tuesdays), which was surprising as a very hospitable chap behind the bar which made for a lovely warm welcome . Had drinks and dried off by the open fire and our dog was treated to dog treats and water bowl. We then had a sneaky peak at a menu on the table next to us and our mouths started to water! Luckily they serve food all day, so that was it, decision made. 2 x Piri piri half roast chicken, padron peppers and hot sauce and coleslaw. Absolutely delicious. Be warned, the hot sauce is HOT. My husband had tears streaming down his face. All staff were very friendly, knowledgeable too when deciding what Ale or Beer to have. Prices very good too. Will definitely be back and would recommend.

After a long drive from Suffolk, my partner and I were looking for a nice spot to have something to eat and drink. As we were near Henley, we decided to give The Argyll a go. As we are both keen Midsomer Murders fans, we immediately decided this was the place to go. With a lovely atmosphere, good food and polite staff, The Argyll is a great place to enjoy good company over delicious food. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again! Hopefully to enjoy the Midsomer beer! Also showing the Six Nations, great stuff!
