My closest friends and I went here last year for our Christmas get together and it was so good we decided to return this year. If anything it was even better! The food is unbelievable. Pubs like this need protecting from reckless government policies. I can’t recommend enough.

Quick attending and table was given in minute with walking-in for dinner. Very polite, attentive staff. Gorgeous food. The Moroccan meatball sauce was so delicious. Very well-presented dishes and tea with our desserts. I would highly recommend it andcwe would come back again and again.

Busy place great food sufficient servers great attitude non intrusive. Plenty of seats but not a feeling of being cramped. Nice busy buzz but people far enough away so that you can still hear your own table's conversation without hearing those of others around you. Nice place to be, good parking.

First off, the service and hospitality was amazing. Very attentive server, couldn’t do enough for us especially with two small children who wanted more drinks, drinks straws, paper and so on! The food was gorgeous, some lovely homely dishes, good portion sizes and came piping hot. The dish that stole the show for me was the pudding and custard! Absolutely gorgeous. It’s such a gorgeous pub/restaurant. Whilst we age inside, the outdoor table area was gorgeous and looked to be a great spot for drinks after work. Thank you very much!

Just made my top 3 for the local area. Super helpful staff squeezed me in the last minute to enjoy a truly splendid Sunday Roast; above and beyond helpful. Check out the additional side dishes; go on, treat yourself, you won't be disappointed. Space outside for kids and dogs. Speed of service was incredible for a Sunday. Phone ahead to book the Roasts as they will sell out .... I am not surprised after eating one! Now to tuck into a dessert ......

Quintessentially English gastro pub. Insanely good food, beautiful countryside setting, very interesting history dating back to the 1700's. Wonderful service. I came out of a 2 year review-sabbatical to post this. I had the Potted Smoked Mackerel which was a wonderfully balanced dish, way lighter than I had expected with so many complementing flavours. Followed up with Fish Pie, which was again superb and way above average.

We had the most wonderful Christmas Day meal. The food was amazing, everyone we met / who served us was super friendly and helpful. The little touches like the Christmas card, quality Christmas crackers (not cheap rubbishy ones!) and the chocolates at the end - made a wonderful experience even better. MASSIVE thank you to all at The Leather Bottle!
