   We use this pub on a regular basis. The service is exceptional and the team members are very attentive. Especially LUCIAN, who is so good at his job and has a smile for every customer. Currently The Griffin is decorated for Christmas and looks very festive and also there is a wonderful real fire burning every day and evening which creates a lovely atmosphere.

   Sadly this was of the poorest roast dinners that I’ve had to date. The beef was described as being served ‘pink’ yet was served overcooked. The Yorkshire pudding was equally overcooked being tough and dry. The roast potatoes were so undercooked they looked as if they’d been boiled (see image), we did call a waiter over to ask if a mistake had been made and we’d been served boiled potatoes by mistake, they did then bring us replacement roast potatoes which were a little better, but they were still undercooked inside. The cauliflower cheese that we paid extra for was so bland I suspect they may have actually forgotten to add any cheese. The carrots and parsnips were similarly undercooked and were lacking any sort of herb or honey glaze that one would expect such vegetables to be served. The food was not served particularly hot. The staff were friendly, but at no point during the meal did any waiting staff come over to ask how the food was. It was a rather disappointing experience to be honest. A lot of food was left uneaten and we left rather promptly. I wouldn’t recommend eating here. .

   Loved our dinner at The Griffin, we had Lucian as our waiter and he was very accommodating and friendly. He welcomed us in and made sure all needs were met. The pies were delicious!

   It was usual Sunday evening dinner for us but this time it was unusual having been served Luke warm Beef Rib dinners with almost 25% fat and grizzle, and not so well roasted undercooked potatoes. However, Megan the server apologised and wrote off one dinner and coffee dessert. The complaint was very well handled and action taken that we applaud. Hopefully we’ll enjoy our next meal better.

   I tried the mixed grill at Griffin which included a large portion of chips, ham, small 3 oz steak, chicken, sausage, and blood sausage. Portions were large, food was good, and service was great.

   Nice pub, befitted to a night out. Visited here with a couple of colleagues and had a great meal and beverage. The draft beer was top notch, Griffin gets rave reviews for their pies and the slow cooked beef ale pie kept up to the expectations.

   You might walk past this pub thinking it's just another high street boozer, but the reality is far removed. Great atmosphere inside, excellent food with a great range of choice from the menu. Very helpful and friendly staff and overall, good value for money.

   We had a fantastic meal. We were a large party of 17, everything was perfect, all the food was served at once, it was all hot, very, very tasty and good value for money. Harriet looked after us really, really well, as did the rest of the staff. This is the fourth time we've been for a family occasion, it's brilliant. I would recommend it to anybody.
