Freya was an exceptional server, very welcoming and helpful. She had a great smile on her face and offered a great atmosphere. Would come again definitely. Lovely place to watch the cricket.

New owners as of March 2025. We've always loved this pub. The setting with the cricket field just there is quintessentially English. The new owners have done a great job tidying it up and have big upgrade plans. Can't wait. Food was good. Nice Sunday Roast. Will come during the week to check out the main menu. Great service and dog friendly.

A lovely spot to sit back with a pint and enjoy some cricket on the field. The service was excellent, with a solid selection of beers on offer. The sweet pecorino peppers from the bar were a standout—absolutely delicious!

Visited on 28/01/23, a Saturday evening. The food was very nice and flavoursome. The service was also more then adequate for most of the meal. Unfortunately when the bill came I noted the bottle of wine we ordered was £10 more then the menu price. When I told the waitress she nonchalantly said that the menus are just old and haven't been updated in a while and that the price on the bill was the correct price. She didn't offer to adjust the bill to match the menu price and just expected me to pay the new random price they had made up. This felt very dishonest and like we had been caught in a scam. Such a shame as up until then it was a good experience, but a very poorly handled end to the evening from staff who clearly aren't bothered about customer retention. At time of writing the price on the website for the same bottle is also different to price we were made to pay.

Fitted us in at the last minute - table for six. Quite a lot of lovely choices on the menu and specials board so hard to make a decision on what to order! Freshly cooked so took a little while to arrive but this gave us a chance to have a good natter. Food was lovely and well worth the wait. We will return to try something else on the menu (or the same thing - so hard to choose!)

Came here for dinner after visiting the Christmas Lights at West Green House. First time visiting and we were very impressed with the service and quality of food. The menu had great variety and the homemade steak and kidney pie was very tasty! I highly recommend the homemade pie (changes every few days) and the king prawn with chorizo too.

Drove past and couldn't resist stopping, overlooking a large green, was offered food and upon looking at menu I took the healthy option (never imagined Id like Avocado) alongside some Jalapeno Delights with additional hot sauce mrmm.. David from SA was tip top on his service, professionalism, attentiveness, and all round personally! Great pub

A great place to have food and drink. The food was cooked excellent and served at the right temperature with great service. The staffs were polite and knowledgeable. I believe it’s a dog friendly pub with super ambience and free parking right in front. The barman served the Guinness the way it should be and we thought it tasted as if we were having a pint of Guinness in Dublin! The pub interior could do with refurbishment and a coat of paint and so could the male toilets. But these things perhaps don’t matter as quality of food, drinks and service are the best!
