The food was quite good, but the service was very mediocre. The staff were not particularly friendly and came across as having an attitude. There was also shouting behind the bar, including someone telling a dog to “shut up,” which was uncomfortable, especially with children present. We had paid a £100 cash deposit to secure our table as required, but when the bill arrived they claimed there was no record of it. Unfortunately, because it was paid in cash, there was no proof, and we were forced to pay an additional £100. We might have felt differently if the food and service had been outstanding, but overall the experience was a big disappointment

Food was good, but sat us right by a boiling hot radiator so we had to move into window seats which weren't very comfortable. I was served the smallest dessert I've ever seen!! I mean it was microscopic. Sadly the Pub has no atmosphere at all. Might be better if sat outside in the summer

Went in for lunch with a friend and was not disappointed. Lovely pub with friendly staff and management. Even though it was fairly busy the service was quick and our food was excellent. My friend had pie with mashed potatoes which looked delicious while I had a selection of small plates which I thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely return.

Came in for an evening meal having not visited before. The place was clean and the staff were organised and confident. I had the tart starter and the beetroot burger. The tart was an excellently designed combination of textures and flavours: sweet, sharp, fresh and savoury. The burger was well cooked and the pesto was an interesting touch that really added to it. Portion sizes were good, especially considering that both courses were only £20 altogether! The service was great, with every member of staff acting with speed, care and a smile. Evie especially was able to take our order professional, and still left the table with everyone laughing. I look forward to visiting again and will be recommending The Butt Inn to friends and anyone in the area.

An excellent Sunday lunch for four. Good location with an attractive dining area. Great service, superb food, beef just how we like it, with an amazing selection of vegetables and fab roast potatoes. Even the chef popped out to say hello. Plus all good value!

Really good food from a local gem. Amazing drinks selection and really well kept. Nice areas for having a drink inside and out with fires in the winter. Went at Christmas and the decorations were really incredible. Service from a couple of trainees was a bit all over the place but easily forgiven.

Had a great time at the butt inn. Plenty of space with a quite area where it’s a tranquil atmosphere and a lovely restaurant menu. Then an equally great space for watching the world cup. Ordered 3 buttermilk chicken burger with chimichurri mayonnaise with skin on chips. It was so nice especially the mayonnaise and chips and the food came just at the right time. Staff were very friendly and checked in on us enough so you felt welcomed not pestered. Manner of the staff was really good and showed a level of service of a good pub. The interior is nice and will definitely visit again for Sunday roast and Christmas time celebrations. Very good price and good portion.

Very good food but service was a little slow but not too bad and we felt it was a little expensive but only due to the portion sizes but the food was very good Update 14.11.22 The food was still very good and the portion sizes were better. We had the double burger with chips very nice and for pudding we had the sticky toffee pudding and the dairy free Sunday also very nice. The service was better but we were the only ones eating in the restaurant. There was a nice wood burning fire that made it nice and homely

We had lunch here after a spur-of-the-moment decision to eat out. This pub has changed ownership since we were last here, but it was still a pleasant experience. The menu is not extensive but enough to choose from, all traditional pub meals. Unfortunately they were out of our first choice - the pie - but the second choice was good too. Staff were pleasant and the pub itself has a nice atmosphere. We'll be back.

Fish and chips are undoubtedly Britain's best food served. This was a new height to my previous experience of restaurant Fish and Chips. Nicely cooked crispy chips with fresh battered cod. The fish was very soft once the batter was peeled off. The fish has a very nice texture which almost deceives you into thinking perhaps it's going to be chewy but it is the other way around and it melts almost instantly. One of the best Fish and Chips I had so far.
