We have eaten in this cafe twice. The first time, we had the most delicious toasted sandwiches and potato wedges. Absolutely gorgeous! The menu had a fairly normal range for the NT. So we were really looking forward to our return visit. However, the range of food on offer on our second visit was extremely limited and with no toasted sandwiches that we had enjoyed so much previously. When I asked about this, I was told they didn’t have the facilities to do them. Rather odd as they had before! The two ladies at the counter I found rather unhelpful and unfriendly - pretty poor customer service. When our food arrived, it was very nice but there was very little to choose from on the menu. We also had a problem with finding a space for my daughter to administer medication necessary when she eats. She usually uses the disabled toilet but there was a long queue for this. None of those in the queue would allow her to go to the front of the line despite the need being urgent. This meant a fairly long delay in administering the medication which then caused a problem with the timing of the food. A younger female cafe member of staff was extremely helpful, offering to keep the food warm for the necessary amount of time. Customer service from her was excellent. Some staff training and adequate facilities for disabled visitors are needed.

Was a bit worried about eating there given the low scores of reviews. However we are pleasantly surprised. Friendly, reasonable speed service, nice tasty food. We had breakfast (pastry) and lunch there and both were yummy. Would highly recommend to give it a go!

A small, quaint part of Mottisfont house. Food was delicious with an extensive range of options. However, besides our coffees being tepid, an intentionally misleading sign next to the pasties saying "Buy one pastie and get another one free" was what had let down the overall service and ambience of the experience. When questioning why we were charged full price for two cauliflower pasties, the server informed us that "the offer isn't on today, but was yesterday". Perhaps the sign should be put away in the future to avoid such confusions.

Pretty standard NT cafe with a soup, baked potatoes and a couple of other hot dishes. Usual selection of sandwiches and similar. And cakes, lots of them of course! Nice to have it in the original kitchens and basement rooms or you can go outside and watch the river. This cafe has real china plates and cups unlike the stables cafe which has the same items apart from the daily specials but is served on recyclable “crookery”.
