What an amazing day. Emma was so welcoming and made each task achievable. Everything was set out when we arrived, so we could followed all of her instructions to make a gorgeous footstool. Christmas 2025 has officially begun after a fabulously festive wreath-making workshop at Semper Hopkins. I am not, by any means, an expert crafter - but Emma’s excellent demonstration and Ros’ encouragement and support put me totally at ease, so I could lean into the joy of making. I was also looking forward to a much-needed wellbeing boost and I certainly found it in the chapel, which wraps you up in a cosy, comforting hug. From the Christmas tunes to the roaring wood burner, to the natural decor to the afternoon tea with prosecco, everything felt thoughtful and intentionally done. This is my second year of wreath-making with Emma and I know this tradition will continue for years to come.
We wanted a different type of team away day - to spend half of our scheduled day doing something that was fun, not linked to work and that helped us get to know ourselves and each other better. Emma provided us with the perfect option! Creating noticeboards for our homes and the office was just brilliant. Emma took so much care in helping us plan the session that on the day my expectations were exceeded — from the venue, the food and refreshments, the training, and the fun we had together! I can whole heartedly recommend this to any business looking for a way to increase communication and collaboration in their teams!
Really enjoyed my first attempt at upholstery. A very warm welcome greeted us with drinks and homemade cake. Everything was clearly explained and demonstrated and help was on hand if needed. Really pleased at how professional my footstool turned out. Thoroughly recommend this workshop. Emma is excellent!!!
I love all things home decor and have often thought about upholstery and imagined I wasn’t skilled enough to do it. Meeting Emma a couple of times and discussing her online courses I was delighted when she offered to collaborate with me. I was so excited to receive the frame kit and loved choosing my own fabric. Everything was included in the kit and the supporting videos and worksheets were so easy to follow. Honestly, if I can do it anyone can. The whole process is step by step, it’s like having Emma in your own home. She was also available should you have any questions. I’m so proud of myself and I now have a beautiful bench in my bedroom that fills me with joy when I look at it. I would highly recommend Emma’s frame kits.
I recently attended the deep buttoned upholstery workshop which was absolutely brilliant. Emma was such a good teacher and has great patience but made everything so easy to do using a step by step approach. It was amazing to see a bunch of materials turned into such a lovely seating bench. My friends and family are also super impressed. Would definitely recommend Emma and her courses
Attended a deep button upholstery course yesterday and loved every second. Location was stunning, Emma was a wonderful tutor, the quality of the materials and equipment were also outstanding. I would thoroughly recommend people of all abilities and ages give this a go. It’s great fun and you get s beautiful piece of furniture to take away.
My husband bought me the stool workshop day as a Christmas gift. It was absolutely fantastic. The communication leading upto the day was brilliant, Emma was amazingly helpful and patient in both the weeks before and the day itself. It was such a lovely relaxed, friendly environment in a beautiful setting and not only did I come home with a stunning piece of furniture I had super good fun along the way. I cannot recommend highly enough I just wish I could go back every week. Thanks Emma and everyone involved. You're brilliant!!!
I went for an upholstery workshop with Emma. The workshop space is super cool and even though it was very chilly (you could see your breath in the air!) we survived thanks to the fire. Emma demonstrated what to do really clearly which was good as I had never done any upholstering before. She also showed me what tools and equipment I would need to start doing it myself at home so I really feel I learnt something. Emma answered all my many questions in a friendly and supportive manner and I had a really good time. I would recommend this course to anybody interested in a new creative hobby, and also to anybody who is interested in making upholstery part of their work or business. I am proud of the footstool that I made on the course and have included a picture of it in its new home. Thanks Emma for a great day and thanks Ian for the cup of tea!
