   We had roast beef for our Sunday dinner and it was beautiful. Everything on the roast was lovely. Roast potatoes were crispy, broccoli was nice and eldenti. The gravy was lovely and rich and the Yorkshire pudding was home made. The best roast dinner I have had out in a long time. If I had to say a minor it would be that I would have loved some roasted parsnips too but that's personal. The service was great too. 10/10 x

   After a Google search for somewhere nice to eat in Winchester, The Golden Lion came up. After picking up an army recruit, he was starving. The food was excellent, fancy enough to satisfy me, plentiful enough to satisfy both him and my daughter. Price was a little more than we'd usually pay but for a top quality, special meal, it was excellent. Also the staff were really friendly and attentive even though it was obvious we weren't locals. Will definitely go back if in Winchester again. Would highly recommend, please go, you won't be disappointed.

   Just outside of Winchester. A solid pub with a garden. A fair beer selection and serves food. The menu looks good, but I didn't try. Clean toilets. Seems very quiet, we were the only customers twice this week at 6pm. Not much of a view. And garden backs onto houses. So in summary a solid pub just outside Winchester You can enjoy a few minutes counting the golden lions in and around the pub.

   Came for lunch on a week day, wasn't expecting too much but given the car park was nearly full and the pub was quite busy I had better expectations and I wasn't wrong, the team were friendly and helpful. They have a good range of beers and drinks, the wine was of a good standard too. The show stopper was the food, I had venison, my wife the chicken, both dishes were delicious, frankly I could have eaten anything listed on the specials board, we left very happy!

   We were passing through and stopped for lunch here. Wasn't expecting such an amazing burger! It was very thick, juicy and full of flavour. The fries were nice and crunchy and well seasoned. Daughters sausages were delicious too. Cost around 30 quid to feed the both of us including a beer so not bad value for money. Staff were fantastic, very friendly. Definitely recommend

   Fantastic choice of lunch venue. From placing a booking to leaving was perfect. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Everything we chose to eat was exceptional. Proper country pub home cooking at its best. Even the toilets were a pleasure to visit. Thanks so much for an awesome experience.

   If we could give this pub 5 stars plus then we would!! Found this pub on google search whilst on a visit my family. We all decided to give it a go after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious, every course perfectly cooked, very flavorsome, and well presented, absolute top compliments to the chef. The service was very good, our food arrived in a timely manner and was served with a smile, it was a great experience and we would highly recommend.........we are definitely going to come back when next in Winchester. Fabulous experience.
