   Looked just like another puppy pub but no, we booked an early dinner at short notice on Saturday before Christmas. Limited menu, burgers, schnitzels and dumping. Everything was first class. Most of the customers appeared to be Polish men who can drink a serious amount of beer and behaved like perfect gentlemen. Great pub amazing atmosphere. 2 course dinner, bottle of wine and digestifs £70.

   Had been recommended to try the roast out at the Dog & Duck... And today I did...Wow what can I say it Was the best roast dinner ive had out in as long as I can remember. The lamb I'd totally recommend, the quality and freshness of the food was first class. Definitely be back to try the other meats very soon.

   Best roast ever. Chose the roast lamb and cooked to perfection. Get more than your 5 a day veg served. Can't rate the roast highly enough. Lovely staff, courteous and very professional. A visit is a must.

   My hubby and I had a lovely dinner here at the Dog and Duck last night. Clean, cozy, and welcoming pub. I’m still in raptures of the food. We had the beet soup, minced meat pierogis, and chicken in mushroom sauce. Everything was cooked perfectly! The pierogies were gorgeous! Big, tasty, and reminded me of my last trip to Krakow. If I’m ever local again, I’d definitely come back here.

   Good size meal.we both had the roast pork but ALITTLE expensive tho for where it is in Shirley plus it's only in a corner pub .meal tasted nice but roast potatoes were ALITTLE crunchy to cut .table was wobbly & decor ALITTLE dated but friendly bar staff especially the young boy . Plus lager prices were a bit steep,should b cheaper like food & then will b even more a popular choice to visit x

   Nice clean pub, went for the food which we had been told was very good but unfortunately chose a day when the pub was full of twenty something's supporting a sports event on the TV which is in the same area as the food service. The service was okay, nothing exactly wrong, the order was taken, the food was timely served with clean utensils and sauces but no attempt at a smile or conversation or asking if we needed anything, just enough effort but no enthusiasm, and not what I would expect in a food pub, our empty plates were still on the table when we left and we weren't offered a dessert menu or coffee etc which most places like to discuss as they clear the table in case you changed your mind from when you first ordered. I felt like we were interrupting something obviously more important (the sport on the TV perhaps). Overall a nice pub, decent food and I might give it one more go on a different day to see if it makes a better impression....
