This is one of the more popular venues from the Wetherspoons chain of pubs. The beer is pretty well priced and most tastes are catered for (IPA, session, craft, lager etc) as well as wines and spirits also. You can no longer sit and smoke out the front of the pub but there is a smoking β€œgarden” towards the rear of the pub. The toilets are regularly cleaned and maintained and there are plenty of tables and booths to sit at, depending on whether you want a little more privacy or the space for a large group. As it’s near the centre of Southampton this pub is particularly well located for many people either coming from or going to other entertainment as well as those in port for the day from the cruise ships. It’s typically busy on Saints home days and most evenings/ weekends but during the day it’s always got a β€œbusy” feel as there’s often a smattering of locals drinking or taking advantage of the free refills for coffee and tea. The food is typically delivered to your table within ten minutes and is the standard Wetherspoon quality. I find their menu fairly varied and they’ve taken pains to detail each meals’ contents to satisfy most customers. All in all: recommended!

Its the cheapest bar in the town. And the aura is awesome. The prices are cheaper than most of the bar in the neighbourhood. I had Guinness which was 3.95 here and neighbouring bar i paid 5.2Β£. So i guess cheap for the drinks. Also its very lively on weekends.

Pub takes its name from a bank that once stood here. Prior to that there was a church here that was demolished early 1900s. It was quiet but roomy & has typical Wetherspoons decor. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. Service was good & staff were pleasant. Would happily come back if we are in Southampton again.

So many slate a Spoons pub but it it serves a purpose, simple as that! This is situated Below Bar on the High Street. There is plenty of metered street parking & lots of car parks nearby if you’re driving. This is a large pub & we arrived just after 6pm on a Friday evening. We couldn’t get a table at first but after a while we managed to grab one. It was very busy, the staff were great & there was a good atmosphere. Definitely recommend if you ever fancy a pint or even want to stay for the evening, you just can’t beat the prices either!!

Went in for breakfast and was advised no eggs but offered extra hash brown. When going to order an alternative meal we were advised that this could not be ordered prior to 11.30am. Then trying to place an alternative meal advised they had no cheddar cheese. At this point the servers could not believe they had no cheddar cheese, Eggs or chicken. Bearing in mind the meal we could not have til 11.30 was chicken. This is rather poor for a pub that bases the majority of its menu on eggs. Whilst there was a notice on the door regarding eggs this was not clearly advertised anywhere else in the pub. Customers were leaving as they had no eggs. Situation was clearly not pointed out enough within the restaurant

This Pub was right next the Mercure Dolphin Inn that we were staying at overnight. The Mercure wanted Β£16.00 for the breakfast buffet. We went to The Standard Order and had a great cooked to order breakfast for the two of us for about the same price and unlimited coffee refills. And at 0800 there were only about six people in the Pub.

I mean it's wetherspoons. What can you expect. The food is edible. It won't fill you up and it won't be visually appealing. But it's cheap. Booze is great and cheap. As long as you don't like quality and craft beer. Its basically what you should expect from a wetherspoons. But not an experience I would expect from any other venue. Staff were great. Hi5 them
