   Food was excellent and service from bar staff was wonderful. I had the bbq chicken melt and it was cooked to perfection, I would highly recommend coming here as it is family friendly and an overall delightful experience.

   My recent visit to The Malt Shovel in Spondon was an absolute delight, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly lovely, offering a warm welcome and consistently attentive service throughout my meal. Their friendly demeanor truly enhanced the whole experience. I opted for the all-day breakfast, and it was simply outstanding. Boasting a generous three of every item, it was a truly satisfying and hearty meal. Each component was cooked to perfection – from the perfectly fried eggs and crispy bacon to the delicious sausages and all the trimmings. The quality of the ingredients really shone through, making every mouthful a pleasure. If you're looking for fantastic food served with a genuine smile in Spondon, The Malt Shovel is definitely the place to go. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

   Spent weekend in Spondon with friends and visited all the pubs in Spondon and the Malt Shovel was by far the best - cosy, friendly and well kept beer. - a proper pub. We are soft Southerners but the Shovel is our kind of pub!

   Great character and charm to this hidden gem. Lovely staff and friendly patrons. Would recommend the Sunday lunch. Real home cooked food and generous portions. Good selection of beers, and I'm told they will be doing more guest ales in the future. Looking forward to going back.
