   Been to this shop a few times. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The prices on the other hand are ridiculous! If you want tape, washers, screws it's perfect, but when it comes to tools they literally are laughing at you! I wanted a hand tool, they wanted £40... It was literally cheaper to drive 10miles to the nearest B&Q to find one just the same at £12.99! Its almost like they class their prices on an emergency call out. I would be giving a one star apart from the staff helped get the second this I needed (correct sized bolts). Local shops can't understand why they are closing, at these prices an item sent from China is why.

   You can buy 1-1000 bolts here. Need 7 carriage bolts (not 6 not 8) not an issue. Need an angle grinding disc. again no problem. Need to have some board cut to the right size? Guess what no problem.

   Traditional DIY store. Lots of stuff squeezed into a relatively small floorspace. The inside is like Dr Who's TARDIS. Great for a browse. It had exactly what I wanted. Plus it showed me other stuff I didn't know I wanted.

   I have marked down to three stars and will explain below. First; the shop is open every day, half day Sunday and prices are mostly reasonable for a local shop. I have chosen to look to Kings first before looking elsewhere as I like to support local businesses. In return, I expect some recognition that they are being given business. Today, I wanted some ptfe tape. It was 99p. I went to pay by card and was told that it was below the one pound minimum as they are taking cash again. I had no cash. That's the way we have shopped for ages. There are a few ways they could have handled that but asking me to go and get something to bring the value to more than one pound was a bit of an insult. I said I would wait until I am going to Basingstoke. Guys, you just lost a loyal customer for one small transaction issue. After all we've been through with card only transactions. You could have saved the day. Not strictly within regs but you could have charged £1 and offered me a penny. I would have refused it. My next purchase will be a random orbit sander. I can't guarantee that I would have bought it from you but I would have looked in your shop first. It costs me £5 to go to Basingstoke. Get close on price and I choose you, or I did before today. Customers should matter.

   Brilliant shop, they have everything you could need and even have a paint mixer too. Staff are friendly and helpful and the items are reasonably priced. It's been a lifesaver for us, having just moved into a 200 yr old cottage nearby in need of complete redecoration and doing up.

   Brilliant as usual, great customer service and great stock. If Kings don't have it you probably don't need it! They have recently expanded their shop and now offer a limited selection of wood including a cutting service! It is a proper old fashioned local iron monger shop for all your day to day DIY and usual doings.
