Great place to get decent vegetables. Very useful at Christmas, thanks to their vegetables boxes. Decent prices. Also great for Halloween, as you can pick your own pumpkins. Wellies and wet gear are a necessity.
Pumpkin picking season at Pickwell, and kind of a tradition now that we get ourselves down there to select what we need. Plenty of free parking, though it can overflow during busy periods. Just turn up, take a wheelbarrow and away you go. Be prepared to get a bit mucky as you go off road with your barrow to collect your pumpkins. A quick trip to the washing station at the edge of the field to clean up your prize and your good to go. Just £3 each for any size is a very reasonable price. And for those not down with the idea of walking the fields they have plenty ready to buy at the shop. I would have thought this particularly suitable as a family activity. Saw numerous children of all ages when I was there, fully enjoying the experience in the late afternoon sunshine.
Great local farm to PYO around the year for seasonal products. Always good to support local farm produce either freshness and value. Very close to town so no need to drive long distance if in Southampton area.
Picked our own courgettes and french beans. Just love this place! (Good parking and takes card payments).
What an amazing experience it was. First time picking up the strawberries and it felt awesome. Although the farm had stated that it might be a bit hard to find strawberries due to end of season but oh boy, we and as I could everyone else was filling their buckets. It was such a fun. And then you can also get fresh milk which is delicious. The strawberries are so sweet and yummy. Lastly, it’s easy on the wallet as well
Lovely farm. We have picked Strawberries before and have picked pumpkins for the last few years too! The kids love getting their wellies on and pushing a wheelbarrow around finding the best pumpkin. We’ll have to come back for Strawberries in the spring!
I love it here, I visit every year for strawberry picking and pumpkins. The variety of pumpkins available is fantastic and the produce in the shop is excellent and really well priced. Also have picked up a fair few bargain plants over the years, I always look forward to returning.
We liked this place very much. A good family opportunity to pick your own-strawberries (the season is over), corn, courgettes, pumpkin, rubarb ( the season is over at the time we visited), beans, runner beans, black berries and gourds. Its such a big area. All the produces are in the farm shop as well but the best thing is to go in the field and pick your own. Kids love it. The farm shop accommodates fresh fruits, vegetables, preserved fruits, pickles, stationary, cards, bread and bakery and a reasonable big garden shop with seeds, bulbs, flowers, pots and manure. They do have ice-cream and cold drinks too.
Enjoyed this as a day out activity. Big and juicy strawberries that were a much better price than in a supermarket. The farm shop had a large selection of produce as well. Organic and fresh.
Strawberry, rhubarb, gooseberry, sugar snap and more, where you pay by the weight you picked! Great fun and excellent prices. Me and the wife had a really great time and we picked enough strawberries to be eat our fill AND to make a cracking strawberry syrup - strawberry daiquiri's anyone? :D
