We just needed a bottle of Hungarian wine as a birthday gift for an English friend and had the best experience in this tiny shop. He is an incredibly professional and amazingly mannered man. We are definitely going to book a wine tasting soon. Can't wait to hear all the stories he is going to tell about every each wine.
Top notch shop Jim very knowledgeable, vast experience in wine and also whisky, been to a few wine/whisky tasting nights here, great atmosphere and incredible value for money. Also if you just want to pop in and get some suggestions or food pairings, go here, never had a bad suggestion.
By far the best place you can possibly ask for if you are interested in fine wines and spirits. Jim’s knowledge is astonishing and he will guide you and help you find the perfect bottle! Highly recommend

The BEST Wine Merchant in town!!! A very quaint, bespoke, boutique Specialist Wine & Spirit shop run by the owner Jim who has been in the trade for over 40years. He has a wealth of knowledge, experience and a real passion for his trade. Whatever you are after you can definitely find or he can recommend something superb. You might also discover something new too. I highly recommend The Jolly Vintner Too Wine shop and also the wine tastings that are run throughout the year. Popped in a week before Christmas to grab some lovely wine as gifts. The team asked what I was looking for, they gave me some recommendations at different price points- and all of them were a hit! Even kept one for Christmas Eve meal, which went down brilliantly with the family. Friendly and professional service, will be visiting again for special occasions and gifts. Thanks!
Went in on Tuesday morning and the owner asked that I wear a mask. I explained that I have an exemption, to which he asked for proof, which I do not legally have to carry or provide. He also claimed that as a licencee he had the RIGHT to demand proof! So, faced with someone who doesn't know what he's talking about I left and spent £170 at Majestic instead, who offered me a glass of wine on arrival and happily provided some advice and tasting.
This is way more than just the best wine shop in Bournemouth! Being a bit of a Whisky lover it's a veritable treasure trove of fantastic malts! But what I really love is the owners immense knowledge of every product he sells, from wine and whisky to local ales and gins! I challenge anyone to ask him about a product he sells, if he doesn't know more information on it than you thought possible... I'll give up wine for a month... (I won't really, but you get the gist)...
