My sympathy for the NHS is solid but my confidence was running low, then up steps Linda Basingstoke CT3 clearly been there a while and long may she stay! Systems and procedures will come and go and the hospitals themselves may look different from one visit to the next but experienced staff are and will always be vital to the service! Many thanks again Kevin(using Alfie’s phone)

Huge shout out to the incredible staff at Basingstoke A&E Monday the 24th November. I came in heavily bleeding, the two nurses that helped me in the bathroom and looked after me were nothing short of angels, I needed that hug and reassurance. Nurse Tony was also lovely and kind. Then finally the incredible doctors, nurses, HCA’s and housekeeping staff at the women’s health unit. I appreciate everything you did for me. Thank you all.

My husband was treated in such a rude and horrible manner. He was blue lighted to A&E and the paramedics were good. But as soon as he arrived in hospital he received no treatment, no examination and a bad attitude from one nurse in particular. They didn’t care about him, he discharged himself but desperately needs medical help. What I am meant to do now. Why do they go into this profession when they just seem to hate people. A full complaint will be made.

I contacted the Audiology department today to cancel an appointment that wasn’t due until the following week. I gave plenty of notice and expected it to be a straightforward process. When the staff member asked why I was cancelling, I politely explained that I did not wish to give a reason. I was then told that I had to provide an explanation. I repeated that I wasn’t willing to do so. The staff member went on to say that by cancelling the appointment, I had effectively discharged myself and would not receive treatment in the future. I made it clear that I had not discharged myself and that this decision was being imposed on me, not made by me. I asked for confirmation, and the staff member again insisted that cancelling the appointment meant I was considered discharged. Having previously worked for the NHS, I understand how busy departments can be, but I also know what appropriate patient communication looks like. This experience left me shocked and disappointed. Cancelling an appointment with notice should not result in a patient being effectively removed from future care, especially without any written confirmation or proper discussion. Clear communication and respect for patient choice are essential, and I hope this feedback helps the department review how these situations are handled in future.

I visited with my sister. The nurse gave her paracetamol and said to ask again if she felt pain. When I asked for it later, the nurse told me to wait 5 minutes, but after waiting over half an hour she went home. I then asked another nurse, but she said she was busy with handover. My sister was crying in pain for more than an hour — this delay was very upsetting. I hope the hospital ensures patients receive timely care especially when they’re in pain.

The emergency room was at the front of the queue super Good treatment But after 7 hours I still haven't received a response to scanning, it's very busy here Finally a doctor came and apologized for the wait, it was the busiest day of 2022, scan showed concussion and no other injury, great
