My experience at this Travelodge was honestly horrendous. I’ve stayed at Travelodge before so I knew what to expect going into this small suburban Travelodge. I did not expect much with little facilities available in the nearby area (as to be expected) but that’s not my complaint. I arrived as a party of four, due to the format of Travelodge’s booking website, we had to book 2 separate rooms and could not fit four adults into one room. However upon arrival, we found our family room (forced to book as nothing else available) had four beds so now we had a double room and a family room with in total of six beds for the four of us meaning we’d wasted money on booking an extra room and taking up space, but had to due to travelodge policy. Despite booking together, we were given rooms on completely separate floors, which is not a major issue. Being a small Travelodge this one only has two floors so the difference wasn’t too significant. However the lack of a lift was quite frustrating when you’re carrying heavy luggage, but again not that major of an issue (however not disabled or pushchair friendly). The quality of the rooms themselves had two main issues : the family room, which me and one of my friends were staying in, had the most horrendous smell, it was like a rotting fruit. You could smell it as you approached the door even in the corridor of just our room. It was so bad we had to complain to the front desk and asked to move. Fortunately, they complied with this request. However, they told us they were fully booked meaning this room would be going to somebody else and they just swapped our rooms with someone else. My two other friends staying in a double room, the room itself was completely fine, however outside in the corridor, only outside of this room (room 21) was a gap in the ceiling where exposed mould and wiring was as well as a leak and a bucket right outside of their door. After being moved from downstairs to upstairs into room 27 we both found the quality of the two rooms were completely fine, no major issues besides the stingy towels we were given given only two (bare in mind our room had 4 beds). Additionally, we did find a few stains on the beds. Despite all this our night sleep was great and quality of the rooms was completely bearable. We had a pleasant stay until we came back after the second day. we arrived back from our event about 1 am me and my friend went to our family room to find her retainers completely missing from the bed Bedside table. She had left them in one of the mugs and a cleaning solution next to the bed. The mug had now been moved emptied and put back onto the desk with a spoon inside of it completely clean. We searched the whole of the place unable to find the retainer so then at 2 am we had to go downstairs and talk to reception. The receptionist barely spoke English so we struggled to fully communicate our issue with him and expressed the urgency and detriment of this mistake from the cleaning crew. Frustrated and stressed, we then headed back to our room where my friend would have to now sleep without her retainer which has anyone who has braces knows, is not great for the teeth. The cleaning crew had completely reset the room putting three out of the four mugs back on the desk with the spoons and leaving a full cup of tea that my friend had left that morning and cleaning out the cup with her retainer and they had an emptied the bins, but they had restocked all of the coffee’s teas and sugars and they’d also given us two fresh towels so the cleaning crew had been there and moved her retainer. The night receptionist told us he would leave a note for his manager in the morning and we will have to speak to him before our check out at 12. The next morning we followed up the issue, the manager then searched through the bins in front of us while we waited as he tried to gaslight us into telling us that we had misplaced them, told us that housekeeping had not touched them and there was nothing he could do. Completely unacceptable, don’t go here. If you want to keep your stuff.

We were welcomed by a warm welcoming gentleman called Rohan, extremely polite and friendly, he wished us happy stay and he also added if we needed anything as well as extra pillows, towels, soap, anything at all just let him know, our 2 days stay was great , the place was spotless clean , beautiful bathroom and bedroom, with soft pure cotton, we were really impressed. Would recommend it any one with all classes. Thank you Rohan for your great hospitality Shamim Jumba and Farhad soltani

None of the rooms had nets in, so as our disabled room was road facing, for privacy we had to keep the curtains drawn. It was VERY noisy from the road too. The room and bathroom seemed fairly clean, however, the toilet doesn't ever seem to have seen a brush under the rim and it was caked in black mold. Children were allowed to use the corridor as a race track until late. The reception staff were extremely friendly and polite.

Room was basic at best. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was sound and close to amenities. However, I was there on business doing some civil work for the salvation army and was extremely disappointed at the fact the hair and body soap provided in the rooms was watered down to a point where it was almost impossible to get a lather up to wash myself. Being -5°c outside this was an extreme aggravation as all I wanted after a cold wet muddy days work, was a nice shower but instead was fuming at not being able to enjoy that. Hope it's not a problem that continues

Clean and tidy. This kind of hotel is quite miserable no life and no cafe etc. shame. Only walking distance shop is a Shell fuel station which of course a rip off for snacks and drinks. Slept good!

The guy on reception doesn't speak English. I asked to change rooms and he didn't understand. At all. Rooms on one side are bang on the main road and the ropey old double glazing keeps very little noise out. No net curtains so everyone who stops at the traffic lights looks directly in to my room. I could deal if I'd paid £40, but it was double that. I should know better than to book a Travelodge.
