Altered the terms and conditions after booking and asked for additional money after I have paid. Extremely poor. Avoid at all costs.
Lovely quiet apartments. Spacious and clean. Good facilities in the rooms. Bed not the most comfortable. Only one coffee pod for machine and no tea bags. 15 min walk to main centre. Pub and supermarket etc within 5 min walk. On bus route.
General thoughts Went on a work trip and stayed a day and a night. This place was fantastic. Looked as good as the pictures suggested. Overall, really clean as well. I think the price was reasonable too. Would describe it as a sort of studio apartment when I booked for the doublebed single room option (can't recall exactly what it was called). Rather than give you a physical key, you'll have to download an app on your phone to get your apartment key to unlock your door. If you rely solely on mobile data it can sometimes be a bit laggy but once you get access to their wifi it works fine. And you can connect to your apartment's wifi from outside your door. Bedroom Nice double bed with decent amount of space to walk around the bed. Had a functioning heater at the foot of the bed. Had a closet to hang your clothes with plenty of hangers to use. New sheets fitted and they provided large clean towels to use if required with smaller hand towels as well. Had a screen to close off the bedroom from the hallway and the living room. Toilet Sparkly clean toilet, shower and floor. They provided shampoo, soap and hand soap for washing. Plenty of toilet roll as well. Ventilation system was good, so didn't leave the place feeling humid. Good water pressure with the shower and good temperature range as well. Living room + Kitchen Kitchen had full sets of clean utensils and cutlery to use. Dishwashing liquid provided as well. You could cook using their pots, pans on their induction cooktop. They also had a large microwave and toaster to use. Living room had a large tv and a portable air-conditioner. Also had a dining room which could seat 4. Sofa was large enough to fit 3 or you could sleep on it if you want. Store cabinet Had an iron and ironing board as well as washing machine. Overall, very pleased with the place and would consider staying there again if I needed to.
Stay here if you’d like to be treated as an afterthought Charles hope will have you jump through all sorts of hoops and nab a £200 deposit off you but once you check in, it’s radio silence. Our shower had a leak and a large visible gap between the shower and the floor which caused water to gush out as soon as you turned on the water. We asked to be moved and sent video evidence to the customer services email which may as well be a black hole. We were told maintenance would come to look at the shower but nobody came. Instead, a housekeeper came and told us we were checking out in the morning so our room had to be cleaned (our booking was actually for 5 more days). I expressed that we were here for work so the shower being broken was a huge inconvenience, let alone housekeeping visits that weren’t necessary. Our email went unanswered and the shower still wasn’t looked at. Then I received a call that we could be moved, this was halfway during our stay and I asked for a time frame when we could be moved so I could fit it around our working day. We had no response to this until a half hearted apology came through on our last day with the offer of being moved. In my time here, I have not once seen a member of staff at reception and the emails are clearly going unanswered, I wish I had listened to the other 1 star email and stayed elsewhere.
I paid £85 per night for this apartment, but honestly, only go here if you absolutely have nowhere else to go. I stayed here for 8 nights, on my 6th night the cleaner came and exchanged my bedsheet to what is visible in the pictures. It's stained and I reached out to Charles Hope, only getting an apology and that they would speak to the cleaning staff. No other actions, didn't care to change them, didn't care to reimburse me or anything, I slept on top of the bedding the coming nights. The sofa is stained to the point that I'm not even willing to sit on it and it smells, a lot. There are some other issues that could need attention as well such as both the waterfall shower and the other shower nozzle is clogged with lime scale and the couplings are not making a tight seal and is spraying water everywhere. The blinds are a bit broken and is allowing people from the outside to look in.
