   We hired the Face Bar Red Room for an adult birthday party with live music. I can't recommend this place more highly - the manager, Sharon, is incredibly helpful and the bar and security staff were great too. If you are looking for somewhere to hire for a celebration, do check them out - they are amazing!

   Make Sure You Personally Put The Address In Google Maps As Skiddle Sent Me Round The Houses! It's Actually Really Easy To Find, Decent Sized Venue, Helpful Staff, Fair Priced J2O's Mini Stage Area For Band Acts, Reasonable PA System, Definitely Loud Enough FOR Venue Size, 2nd Area Partitioned So Can Easily Hear Music From There Over The Bar! I Went FOR Particular Event As Aaron Liberator Was Playing, Banging 90s Acid Techno, But The Live DnB Act Was Good As Was The DNB Jungle DJ

   Came to see a live band here and it was so weird. The sound engineer was clearly awful because the mics were feeding back constantly throughout the entire gig and the band were visibly frustrated. The venue itself is an interesting space but it has booths round the edge that feel very dated and need some attention because it feels like an old working men's club from the 80s.    I've been to a few gigs at the Face Bar now. All have been new or upcoming bands ranging from death metal to electronic. The experience has always been brilliant. This place is in an uninspiring location but it's just a short walk from the town centre and once you're at the door it's just like every other good music venue except that the staff are more keen to make your evening great; from the door staff to the friendly bar staff, everyone helps to make this place awesome. If you've been before you already know this. If you haven't then maybe it's time to add this to your list of great music venues in Reading.

   Saw The Bug Club here. Perfect venue, great atmosphere. Staff were very good. Only shame is the beers on offer were all mainstream lagers. A local (double barrel, phantom, elusive, siren etc) or more interesting keg offering would make it perfect.
