They are a disgrace. Just want to send you to a&e because they can't do thier own job properly. Get a receptionist making all there decisions. They'd rather not see someone at all then have to do the job they trained for. I find it a disgrace to pay national insurance to get this level of service. All in all terrible

Being relatively new to the area, I had to sign up to a GP and chose this one. I was obviously very skeptical because of some of the reviews on here, but they are seriously amazing. I have easily gotten every appointment I have needed (you just need to get on the website to book as early as you can), and the doctors along with the pharmacy staff next door have been absolutely empathetic, caring and exactly what you’d need from people in these professions - despite all of the pressure that NHS staff currently face. If you’re nervous to sign up due to the reviews, I recommend you personally give this practice a try if it is the one nearest to you, as you can always transfer to another doctors if this one doesn’t seem like a good fit for you. But overall, 10/10!!!!

This GP practice is without doubt the worst NHS service I have used in my entire life. Every health issue they have had involvement in has been appalling. They are consistently incompetent, From the reception staff, GPs and management staff. Constantly passing blame for their own mistakes. Simple requests such as prescriptions are not processed and even referrals to services that are no longer exist. A disgusting service that is a barrier to health seeking behaviours, this practice is To be avoided at all costs.

A great practice - the G.Ps are thorough, and listen intently to concerns. Since having my daughter they have been reliable, friendly and efficient during what have been difficult times. Admittedly it is not always the easiest to get an appointment but I find the reception staff (in particular Chrissy&Zoe) very genuine and repeatedly go out their way to help you with the resources they have available to them. In my experience, the practice has been consistently responsive to concerns of a serious clinical nature.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Hugely gone down hill. The new booking system is appalling. Impossible to get through on the phone just says try again later. Took all day to get in touch to book in as I wasn't able to book online for one of the reasons they specify. Got attitude from the receptionist until I informed her that I could not book it online then suddenly her attitude changed maybe if she gave me chance to say why I called that could have been avoided. Been impossible to get an appointment for my toddler was given a link to book in for a practice not close to me. Told to call up which took 3 hours to be told they couldn't do anything and take him walk in center. The website doesn't work for checking your records and after over a year they still haven't fixed it. The new booking system needs to be scrapped and major changes made. Will be looking to move to a new doctors surgery asap.

Absolutely atrocious service. You can wait on the phone line for an hour and when you finally connect you can hear them put the phone down on you. They keep denying my insulin thinking I no longer need it (surely doctors should be knowledgeable enough to know insulin is something I need to take 5 times a day to live). Speaking to the staff they seem friendly but they are far from helpful and genuinely seem to try their best to avoid as much work as possible. My family has used this surgery for 20+ years and everyone has noticed the lack of service during the last 5 or so years. Something needs to change if not only the reception staff

I’m not discrediting the experience of those who have rated this surgery 1*/2*, I am honestly just in such disbelief at them. I moved to Borrowash in 2019, I’m 29 years of age and never in my life have I had such a consistently wonderful experience with a doctors surgery as I have with the Borrowash practice of Park Medical. I think it’s well known in England that as a general rule, doctors surgery receptionists tend to be incredibly rude and GPs make you feel rushed. This place is the polar opposite! EVERY receptionist I’ve ever spoken to has been polite, friendly, patient and helpful. EVERY nurse or GP I’ve seen has been genuinely caring and interested in listening to me and helping. I had my first baby earlier this year and all through pregnancy I never had an issue when needing an appointment whether in person or over the phone, and each time I’ve been for my baby’s vaccines I’ve been seen by the most incredible, professional and compassionate nurses. Every single staff member in this building is nothing short of a total credit to their profession. The NHS is overwhelmed, overstretched, underfunded, understaffed and yet all of these guys still show up to work every day and deliver such great service and care to the public. I don’t mind saying that I’ve also been to the Chaddesden practice too and absolutely hated it. Went once and will absolutely never be doing that again no matter how desperate I am. Disgusting service and rude staff (but in fairness, when I complained to the practice manager she resolved immediately) but it really reminded me to stay grateful for the people at Borrowash practice. If the staff do get to read this then please know that I’m thankful for each and every one of you. Experiences like this at doctors surgeries in England is just unheard of, you are all bloody brilliant x

There’s something going on with this surgery - can’t get appointments but never anyone in the waiting room. Can’t even get through on the phone lines. People will die leaving things that need to be checked up on, because they can’t get appointments but are being told not to go to walk-in centres. And not being able to get through for medication reviews for serious problems. What do they do all day when you can’t get through on the phones and can’t get an appointment? They just give telephone calls to everyone that’s why nobody is being physically seen. The Doctors are probably working from home. THIS SURGERY IS DANGEROUS. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET YOUR MEDICATION IN TIME OR REVIEWED WHEN NEEDED, YOU WILL NOT GET AN APPOINTMENT. YOUR HEALTH IS IMPORTANT, YOU DESERVE TO BE SEEN AND HEARD. DO NOT LET THESE INCOMPETENT SURGERIES PUT YOUR LIFE AT RISK.

Absolutely awful doctors. I’ve been coming here since I was born and now I’m 20! You can NEVER get an appointment ever. I rang at 7.55 ( they open at 8) and all the appointments were gone? I rang the doctors last Thursday for a sore throat and suspected ear infection but surprise they had no appointments and I had to be spoken to over the phone and text pictures of my throat to my GP! No one checked my temperature my ears themselves nothing! By Monday my hearing was going deaf and I was rushed to the local urgent treatment centre with an ear infection and antibiotics! I had to attended the urgent centre again on Tuesday because I was getting progressively worse. By Thursday midnight I was rushed to a&e again with a kidney infection! This doctors are still saying they won’t see people face to face when every other GP practise that I’ve heard about see their patients face to face! Because of not being seen last week, I’ve not been able to work, not been able to attend university ! This doctors is absolutely horrific and it’s only gotten worse. If you feel medically unwell don’t bother trying to get an appointment here because firstly you physically can’t and secondly it’ll probably be over the phone and you will not get the service you require! It is easier to speak to 111.Just because I wasn’t seen last Thursday- I’ve adapted 2 infections in my body and I’ve had to pay over £40 in antibiotic prescriptions because a gp didn’t check my ears or saw me face to face and my infections have advanced !!

I went for a smear test. There were no other patients in the waiting room except another lady waiting for the same. The phone didn't ring once...yet it takes 30 to 40 minutes to get through on the phone. Where are calls going? They have removed the board that tells you which doctors are present. I asked the nurse why there were no patients being seen. I rephrased the question several times but she just kept repeating 'I can assure you patients are being seen.' I can't believe that if they have 30,000 patients as they claim that no one needed a face to face appointment that morning.
