The staff were entirely unprofessional and showed little respect for customers’ time. Despite having three employees in the shop and no other customers, they expected me to wait 30 minutes for them to retrieve just two packs of medicine from the shelf, a delay they seemed to view as completely normal. It’s no surprise they’re already rated so poorly. For a short period, the service noticeably improved after they hired a lady who previously worked at Alto(Bron), everything ran smoothly. She wasn’t in today, and unfortunately the service has reverted to its previous poor standard.

It’s not my favourite pharmacy, because you often wait for an absolute eternity only to be told that your medication isn’t in stock. On my most recent visit, I went in for a quick over the counter item, but the staff ignored me for so long that I gave up and left. There was no queue and to be fair they were probably all busy filling prescriptions, but someone needs to man the counter and serve customers.

The lady on the front counter with the red hair m- probably the best customer service ive seen in a shop after a long time so well done.. I only took off 1 star as my prescription was not ready despite most other people got their one done up and sent on their way much quicker than mine.. I can only put it down to my prescription being complex due to private and not NHS.. overall will visit again if in town otherwise I will stick to my local in Emmer Green !!

WOW! WOW! WOW! The best pharmacy in reading I have come across in reading. All the ladies are very helpful especially Bron whom is at the front, she always greets me & always asks me how I am & always smiling & very polite & v helpful. Hannah is so polite & very helpful & always greets me & asks me how I am. The other 2 ladies are lovely too! Sorry I don’t know your names. This pharmacy has hugely improved since these ladies have worked here so please don’t go to any other pharmacy. These ladies are approachable & always put the customer first. They have a great sense of humour as they always laugh at my jokes! People don’t understand that they have high work load & somedays they may be short of staff so you need to be patient. They are doing there best! Well done ladies! Thank you so much ladies I do appreciate everything you do for me. Kauser Bibi

If only AI could replace pharmacists…. Oh wait that might happen in the near future…. and I’ll probably get better service. My experience was nothing more than a human looking at a flowchart and telling me what can’t be done. Didn’t register what was being said by the patient but just kept looking at the screen repeating the same thing albeit in a nice way. Other negative reviews now seem warranted and I don’t think sending someone away and expecting them to come back when the situation gets worst is in the best interests of the patient or the NHS. And please DO NOT use Anima for booking an appt at the GP. Biggest waste of time if you’re trying to secure an in person appointment. It does a great job of giving you an appointment with someone you don’t need to see and as late as possible in a mode that doesn’t work for the condition. I ended up getting a telephone appt with a pharmacist at the GP (after 4 days) who couldn’t help me because they needed to see me and got an appt after work with the pharmacist at the pharmacy to be told they couldn’t help me.

Always have good service here. Prescriptions ordered 4 weekly. Always ready for collection 2 - 3 days later as notified.

Never enough staff. There appears to be more pharmacies then counter staff and you always have to write your name on a piece of paper so they can find your medication. Always queues.

Do i have to give it one star ? Honestly, the worst experience of a pharmacy i have ever had. Put name on a piece of paper, then asked 10 minutes later "what are you collecting ?" then after a further 30 mins told they don't have it in stock, and missed one needed medicine out all together because they didn't check the prescription i was collecting, Have asked Dr to send prescriptions elsewhere in future. Avoid at all cost !!!!!!!!!!!

We had an unpleasant experience this morning and will not go to this pharmacy again. Having visited our GP, my wife and I went to this pharmacy next door for our prescription. My wife wrote down her name and DOB per request, and walked to the back of the shop to wait together with few other customers. Having waited for about 25 mins, I went to walk around the area for about 20-25 mins and back to find my wife still waiting quietly at the back when all other customers in the shop were not the same as I left. I went up to the counter and waited for the lady staff to finish with one customer then asked her for how much longer we had to wait since we had been there for over 45 mins. She asked us to write the patient's name and DOB on a piece of paper again then walked away for her other duties. Having waited for another few mins, I asked the same staff when we would have our prescription prepared. Forgetting what she said to me but obviously it wasn't a direct reply so after a while I started to ask again calmly "can you tell me how long I have to wait" & "can someone tell me how long I have to wait". This staff came to me and said "Sir, I don't accept rude person here in this pharmacy, and just wait wait, I am not shout to you" then she walked away to serve another customer. **As I was feeling something was not right, I switched my mobile to the 'record' mode and recorded this part of conversation so I have solid proof to show how calm I was at the moment and how rude this staff was towards a customer who had been totally neglected for almost an hour in this tiny shop**. I went back to the surgery next door and the receptionist checked and confirmed to me that the prescription was sent to the pharmacy at 10:40am (exactly one hour before). When I went back to the pharmacy, my wife was finally collecting her prescription and we eventually left with a very unpleasant experience. It is a pharmacy we will never go back!!

Slow service, wrong prescriptions and lack of interest by the staff. Blame the Surgery for not having a prescription and after checking the surgery gave me the date it was sent to them. Oh yes, we do have it but we haven't done it yet. Still, on the bright side when there is a queue waiting to go in (three at a time only please) they are able to shut for an hours lunch bang on time so somethings working, just not them.
