What a lovely place did a new years eve party last night friendly bar staff landlady and landlord great bunch of locals aswell food and drinks was amazing too
What a great local pub with amazing food. Tonight was burger night but there were other options. Our daughter had gammon, I had a home made pie and my wife had a chicken burger. Allover and locally sourced
Dropped in for a meal during our weekend in Ashbourne, there's a big car park round back so plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and the food was great with generous portions. A particular highlight was the burger with stilton and black pudding washed down with a nice pint of Timothy Taylor's landlord.
Recently had an overnight stay - absolutely excellent family room, very clean and well equipped. Arrived late but hosts couldn't have been more helpful. Good choice of breakfast in the morning. Delightful stay
We booked last minute. What a lovely lively place. Caters for everyone, the food was excellent, the service first class and it was great value for money. We will definitely return.
Stopped here for a drink during a walk. Had a nice pint of Sharps Fury. Friendly staff and large beer garden with plenty of seating and tables.
Dropped in on way home from peak district hopping to get something to eat. It was quite busy but they managed to get us a table. Had a wonderful Sunday lunch. The staff were very good. Would recommend it for a Sunday lunch

Great place. Anything I needed was no problem to the staff. I even woke up next day and my car wouldn't start so a lovely member of staff ( sorry can't mind her name ) helped me by giving me a jump start. I went down for Alton towers so only half an hour drive from Royal Oak. Would recommend to anyone.
