Stayed on 4 nights on their xmas package. This private run hotel is outstanding for customer service and fine food. Breakfast is cooked to order. Three open log fires to suit the Christmas atmosphere. Strongly recommend this hotel anytime of the year.

Went for a boxing day dinner, great menu with great promise as we have dinned there before Got seated and ordered food was quick and tasty, mains were ok although my husbands meal was cold and we had to send it back, i had steak which was amazing but my chips were from different time zones, some dark and well done, some light and not as crispy, thats ok, my son had a curry he said was ok. Puddings were nice but my eton mess needed more fresh fruit and to be colder, it was a bit ambient. All in all service was ok but not amazing, food was good but had its faults and not really anything special as an atmosphere. So in a nut shell it was ok not great. The bill was confusing and charged for wrong drink but thats ok. And i absolutly hate football on tv when i am being seated , for what i feel , is a celebration dinner. Like i said for us was ok. Not great and i wouldnt go again for boxing day and we are local.

Loved the place. superb restaurant, good food choice excellently cooked. Lots of wood burners ,the place oozed warmth and ambience. Plenty of easy parking, comfortable and clean rooms. Every single member of staff was friendly and approachable. Everyone ..without exception.

Room and hotel in general very clean and fresh looking. Lovely dinner with generous portions. The staff were all friendly and made you feel welcome. Breakfast was filling too and freshly cooked. I couldn't fault anything. Very happy with our stay. Would definitely book again.

Didn't stay, but five friends met for lunch. A very nice friendly 'family run' hotel & restaurant. A good menu choice, especially the 'Specials' two had a Roast Dinner and the other three chose of the 'Special'. Freshly cooked and tasty. Really nice location.

Great location with plenty of parking and easy access for the wheeled and the infirm. We were there for a buffet so I can’t speak for the meals but the buffet was great, with plenty of choice which was replenished as the pallets emptied. Friendly service and plenty of staff behind the bar, so not too long to wait. A wider choice of real ale would have been nice but my Pedigree was very good.

Heard some good reviews about the food so thought I'd give it a go. We had the Beef Carvery and i was disappointed to be honest, the beef wasn't the most tender and the veg was barely cooked..to top it the mashed potatoes tasted tangy and had black bits in them. My Mother was with me so i didn't want to mention it for fear of embarrassing her. The staff was top class though and couldn't be nicer

Lovely relaxing weekend. Food very good, amazing breakfast. Very pleasant staff, particularly on reception. Left something behind and they were excellent in assisting me to get it returned .

Just been for a family lunch , although it was busy the service was quick, efficient and very friendly. The food was superb, hot and very tasty. The roast of the day, one of us had beef and the rest turkey, we all had the standard size, which was plenty ! I hate to think how big the large size was never mind the extra large. Many thanks to the wonderful staff for all the friendly attention.
