We stayed in room 5 lovely room and had a lovely time. Staff really friendly went to restaurant downstairs lovely food and waitress was really nice and made us feel very welcome. Stain on bedding but came and resolved issue within 15 minutes. We had a problem with the shower leaking through to downstairs but again resolved the issue really quick and allowed us to use another room. Would definetly come again had a lovely evening.

Nice room, firm matress. The tub in room is freaking huge. The sauna room and the hot tub were a bit small. But we owned them during the whole stay as it is a quiet season now. Decent location, pretty close to get to peak wildlife park. The only complaint is the one-step stair in the bathroom. It is pretty a trap when it has the same color of the floor.

Absolutely brilliant stay i had with my girlfriend. Room was awesome, hottub is great, location was nice and quiet with no distractions. Room service was really fast and efficient with great food. Honestly so glad we chose here to stay for a weekend away. If I could give 10 stars I would, we've had a fabulous weekend here. The rooms are really "high end", amazingly comfortable bed, the hot tub is just fabulous, a low light comes on automatically when you go to the bathroom in the night, Nespresso coffee machine, easy to use very effective air conditioning, I could go on. Husband commented that in London the room would be 4 times the price. But the thing is the staff are lovely and friendly, not at all pretentious which makes for a very relaxing stay. Food in the pub next door was delicious, we were spoilt for choice. We couldn't fault our stay at all, it was perfect. Thanks to all concerned.

I had a fantastic five-star experience during my stay! The interior was beautifully designed, and the room had everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing time. The shower was lovely, and I appreciated the complimentary beverages and coffee provided. The private hot tub was a highlight, staying hot all the time, making it perfect for a soak anytime. The large built-in TV, heated bathroom floor, and firm mattress added to the overall comfort. I also loved the big balcony doors, which brought in lots of natural light. Highly recommend this place for a luxurious and relaxing getaway!

We booked a superior room for our wedding anniversary, the room was stunning however noone had been in the room to put heating on. We had no choice but to return home. We were given a full refund. Staff were very helpful, but the heating would not work.

My wife and I stayed at the Stables Hotel for a night away over the weekend. The place was fantastic, we were lucky enough to stay in the Junior Suite which has a private terrace and hot tub. The room itself was beautiful, very clean and the attention to detail with the welcome book made settling in really easy. The staff were really helpful, we went to the bowling green for food (would recommend the lamb shank!). We will definitely be returning!

The place was absolutely beautiful, so relaxing and top marks for cleanliness. The young girl who checked us in and shown us to the room was lovely and she really made an effort to make us feel comfortable. We had our evening meal and breakfast in the pub where you check in and the food was amazing. Our waiter was fantastic and he couldn’t do enough for us. I can’t wait to stay again… 9 o’clock breakfast on the dot.

The stables went above and beyond our expectations. What a hidden treasure! We booked The Stables for a staycation beak as a couple and it was just everything you could hope for. There is honestly nothing we can fault. We booked Room 2 which also comes with a wooden hot tub. The room itself was large and spacious. Very well equipped with everything you need, including high quality products for the shower. The bed was like a massive cloud. We both slept so well, and even better was the fact the room had blackout curtains and blinds so there was absolutely nothing to disturb us. Set an alarm if you need to be anywhere haha. The hot tub on the balcony may look small but it’s actually quite deep and is very well positioned so that it’s not overlooked and is incredibly private. Just sitting there with an ice cold glass of wine in had listening to the rain fall was so relaxing. For our first nights stay we ate next door at The Bowling Green Steak House. Highly recommend you book a table in advance as its one of the best restaurants in the area so you won’t want to be disappointed. Other things that I would have to commend them for is the small perks like room service via the app. And Netflix on the Tv in the room. All small additions that make such a difference when you’ve been out for a good hike in the peaks. We must say that the staff also are so friendly and welcoming and just can’t so enough to make your stay comfortable. Absolutely lovely. There is parking onsite right outside your rooms. The Stables is located from a short walk into Ashbourne so you’ve got local supermarkets if you need them, plus pubs, clothing stores and restaurants. We visited The Little Shed where we had breakfast. It also serves an afternoon tea which looks good. If you’re into fine dining we would also highly recommend The George at Alstonefield as was had an exquisite 9 course tasting menu. The Stables is also located within a 15mins drive of Dovedale which is a stunning place for a proper Peak District hike. We will 100% book here again when travelling to the peaks.

Brand new hotel with only 1 review so took a bit of a gamble, and wow! It paid off. Booked a superior room for wife’s birthday which gave access to the spa. Only the 2 superior rooms get access so it was empty and felt very private. Room was spacious and very luxurious with everything you need. Above anything else, the fabrics, fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality. The giant freestanding copper bath was excellent! Never thought I’d mention a carpet in a review (!) but it was so lovely. Checked in next door at The Bowling Green Inn and everything was fab. Love that you can connect your phone to the TV with a QR and cast all yours own media Netflix (etc). Wasn’t cheap but you really get what you pay for! Will defiantly return in future.
