   We stayed in one of the shepherd huts for a few nights. It's a great little place to be one with nature. We enjoyed a few nights in the hot tub though as soon as you opened the top, flies would start to swarm the area whilst laying in the hot tub. An optional welcome pack (milk, butter or bread) (even at a small price) would have been nice as we weren't sure exactly what to bring with us on the first night. A great little stay though. Lovely, bubbly staff. We would stay again.

   Lovely and peaceful overnight stay. Beautiful scenery, fields of cows and wildlife, we stayed in the Laburnum Shepherds Hut and had no complaints. We were sent a list of instructions prior to arrival including how to get in and weren’t disturbed throughout our stay. Private hot tub was lovely. Although be careful if you have a low riding car, we did manage but had to take it extremely slowly on the track.

   I wish I had read the reviews! Rude ower! The long road to get to the cottage was horrendous. When we arrived we got ready to go into the hot tub, with a child aged 10, while I was in the owner was stood outside her house staring over which was a look that she was watching us and wasn't happy. I smiled and she turned her head and walked back in. She then came and walked across our lodge back and forth, she was mad with us for no reason. Her energy was that she wasn't happy! No hello what you expect or enjoy your stay. Later we had a walk around the area to which she shouted aggressively and so rude that we shouldn't be walking around we’re we was ( we didn't know, there was no signs to say otherwise, we didn't go near any other lodges we was just generally having a wondered and stretching our legs) All the demands in the lodge left me to feel uneasy, I was trying to keep it more clean than enjoy my time there. Stripping the beds in the morning, cleaning all pots and putting them away, removing all your rubbish. I always do these things naturally, it just felt like you would get in trouble if you didn't how it was all wrote with so much aggression. The beds were rock hard. When we was leaving we walked pasted Ruth, Ruth didn't even acknowledge that we was there, so rude no smile. Not a nice enjoyable stay, don't stay here if you want a friendly atmosphere, or have children.

   29th of June /2nd July 2024, we stayed there for 3 nights, at Lavander retreat, and we enjoyed every minute of it . The hot tub was amazing ,we used it even when it was raining ,chilly outside nice warm water in the tub . Decent size of bed ,shower room ,all you need to enjoy the stay . Nobody disturbed us during our stay , we had music on giggles and laughter . One thing ..... the steps were slippery when wet and really dangerous. Thank you ,Hen Cloud Cottage x

   Wish we could leave zero stars. We turned up at the accommodation, the pin code did not work and no one answered our numerous calls to the property. We've had to come home again. No refund given, no contact to say sorry from owners. Would not recommend. Clearly no pre-lit fire burning either as detailed in the description of the property. The fire is lit for guests upon arrival only. After check-in, it is then the guests responsibility to light the fire and supply the fuel. No it wasnt. Please note guests who wish to make use of the hot tub are required to arrive at the property before 18:00, to be shown how to operate it. Please note the hot tubs are not in use between 22:00 and 10:30 daily. Please add that guests wishing to use the hot tub will need to pay a £50 cash refundable deposit on arrival. Deposit to be refunded after hot tub checked on departure. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to use the hot tub. No one there to show us how to use the hot tub or take deposit.

   Spent a couple of nights here recently. Fabulous place , owned by a lovely woman.The room was spotless ,comfortable and finished to a high standard . The location is perfect for walking and relaxing, very peaceful and great views from the private garden area . Highly recommended.

   Unfortunately what started as a lovely couple of days turned into the owner being slightly off with us. There where two pins but unfortunately I’d read the wrong one through having a problem with taking in information I’d read it wrong and was swiftly spoken to like a problematic visitor. “People don’t read thing properly” was the statement which had slightly taken me aback after speaking with a taxi driver it was apparent why the owner had been so abrupt. I myself always make sure I stick to rules stated and leave the room in a way that I would expect my own room to be left but was not happy with what I found upon stripping the bed as request but as I usually do leaving a room anyway. The top sheet had a stain on it which had been from the mattress cover which also had a stain on it but which was stained firstly and top sheet had soaked it up. Then when stripping the mattress cover off it was also apparent that the mattress had not been hoovered for a long while. This made me disgusted as we’d slept in a bed that had not been stripped before we arrived. The towels unfortunately although where soft they smelt musty. The draws and handles where mismatched which also caused an issue by way of cutting my hand on a pointed screw that had been used to put the handle on the draw. Breakfast proved an issue as we were not given a choice in what we could eat. We were given ice cold chocolate chip rolls, croissants and sour dough oat bread rolls (I think), orange and apple, weetabix for the first day. Chocolate chip rolls and bagels, orange juice, apple juice, bananas, oat rolls and weetabix. This was far from the “choice” menu they had displayed on their website which I had been looking forward to. I do not think that this place should be displaying their website as they do if they do not give an option to have what’s “supposedly” on offer. The room itself is very small and comfortable for two people with a nice sized bed. The facilities where adequate for what the room was. There could however be a microwave or even a toaster put in there so that even when the continental type breakfast is given you at least have a chance for it to be warmed on a very very cold start to the day. I ended up warming the rolls and croissants up on the radiators. The outside of the room was poorly lit and unless you have a torch with you, you cannot see anything. Not even the slight raise on the step as you go through the arch way. I had tripped a couple of times which didn’t do my already dodgy back any good.

   A sweet little room, we stayed in the Rose room. The bed was lumpy and very noisy. The bathroom door creeked when opening it. We expected a cooked breakfast and found instead a cold selection of cerals and pastries in a basket. The location is right out in the sticks down a single track road. Lovely views though.

   Amazing place , lovely cottage,clean , comfortable, hot tub after a day out made this a lovely break just not long enough . The host is doing a brilliant job of running her business in difficult times thank you for making us feel safe but welcome Lorna and Darren hope to come back
