Just a quick thank you to Steve and Donna who own Dove Farms Barns , we had a short term holiday rental for a few weeks and the accommodation & help was second to none. This setting is fabulous and the attention to detail in the property is outstanding ,many thanks for making the experience enjoyable.

Very unprofessional host. Would not recommend. my friends and I booked this for a couple of nights for New Years Eve back in July. the host told us just 1 week before they'd double-booked and had to cancel our reservation because someone else had booked it (which I do not believe). We had already organised travel and paid deposits for food nearby. I would have expected the host to be apologetic about this and to offer suitable alternative accommodation but unfortunately they did not. Given the late notice we had to cancel our plans which was a great disappointment. I would not recommend booking as the host showed they clearly had no intention to help guests with any issues.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin!!! Myself and my dearest friends had booked to spend our New Year’s Eve at β€˜Dove Farm Barns’ some time during Q2 β€˜22, to only have the proverbial rug swept from under our feet at the 11th hour (less than a calendar week!!!!), claiming of a β€˜double booking’ with β€˜another party’ who apparently took priority over us. This intended celebration coincided with some deeply personal milestones for our group, which we had been wanting to celebrate together - hence the early booking. This cancellation came at great expense to us, with a number of travel plans booked and paid for; deposits for exquisite meals paid for; routes and agendas for jaunts around historic Stoke on Trent and the surrounding Staffordshire countryside planned - all now counting for nought! I’m in utter disbelief at how a professional host can dash people’s plans with such rash recklessness. We are all devastated, out of pocket and out of options. I hope the host profits handsomely from this double booking; at least someone is doing well from our heartache.

Do not risk booking this accommodation! We booked this around 6 months ago for New Years Eve in a group of 6 couples. We made arrangements e.g. travel, booking a meal and paying a deposit, arranging for a food shop, and planning for NYE festivities. Just a week before NYE, the host cancelled saying she had double booked, with very little in the way of an apology and no suitable alternative/compensation offered. In fact, the host was rude and dismissive, and I suspect that it was cancelled last minute because they could get more money for a longer booking. They suggested totally unsuitable alternative accommodation (two separate units more than 20 minutes away from each other) when clearly we had booked group accommodation so that we could be together as a group. I would not take the risk booking this accommodation, as you may end up like us, hugely disappointed!

AVOID!!!! Horrendous experience. Me & my friends booked this for a couple of nights for New Years Eve in July, and the host told us just 1 week before they'd double-booked and had to cancel our reservation because someone else had booked it (which I do not believe). We had already organised travel and paid deposits for food nearby, and they did absolutely nothing to help, apart from offering us separate accommodation which would break up our group. No compensation offered, dealt with us in a rude way. Do not risk booking a holiday here!!!

Absolutely horrendous experience. We booked Dove Farm barns for the night before our wedding thinking it would be a lovely treat for us and our wedding party. We arrived at Dove Farm and members of the other lodges decided they would block parking spaces for their party. Admittedly not Dove Farm Barns team fault, but worth looking into allocated parking in the future. We looked around the rooms when we arrived to find nearly 100 living / dead flies in one of the bedrooms. We rang the number provided straight away to try and get someone to sort this before our guests arrived. However, no one answered after about 7 calls. At this point we had to clean this up ourselves, alongside a couple of the other bedrooms which also had some dead flies in them. We also found quite a few items in the kitchen that had clearly not been cleaned since the last guests and the whole barn felt sticky / unclean. Also a warning that the majority of the bathrooms didn't have a shower attached to the wall. We never got a phonecall back from the team after calling so many times, e-mailed after our wedding and have still never had a response. I normally don't leave such bad reviews as I understand these are small businesses and give people the benefit of the doubt. However, the lack of communication from the team is unacceptable and I would not recommend Dove Farm Barns. Really disappointing way to start our wedding celebrations.

Great for small parties, not for parties over 4 people due to issues with practicality We booked unit 2 to sleep 16 (though we only had 12 guests) and didn't feel there would've been enough space for 4 more. These felt ideally suited to 4 people per cottage Not all bathrooms included showers, some included baths with hoses which are too small to use without splashing water around. This wouldn't be a problem if the bathrooms had more shelves and hooks for toiletries and clothing, but without them your things get wet. Bedrooms also include limited storage for anyone staying multiple nights. Due to having to share showers, the drains got blocked quite quickly The kitchens aren't that well equipped for large parties either, without enough matching plates etc and are very cramped with about 4 people in them All in all a very nice cottage and very clean in a lovely location, but the above issues with bathrooms and space mean we wouldn't come back
