Absolutely beautiful place, staff were good, had a very nice welcome. But the actual food was very disappointing, especially for the price. Definitely average food at a higher price.

The room was nice - a good size, clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with a good shower. The room has a kettle, fan and hairdryer and we requested an iron. The fan wasn't great and the iron was broken - not great but also not the end of the world. My friends got locked out of their room at 1am because their card became demagnetized, but staff were helpful and quickly fixed the problem. I liked that there was someone on the desk 24hrs - good when we were coming back late from a wedding. The breakfast was fantastic and there were so many options. We also had dinner in the pub and the food was SO good. Overall, a lovely little place :)

Dark and dingy rooms, side boards very worn, mattress was thin and bed was hard, I payed £116 a night and I've stayed in much better places and payed less, toilet wasn't a very good flusher, shower was powerful though, in the morning at breakfast the tea and coffee was served cold, at that point I didn't want breakfast and went back to my room to make my own coffee, got ready and checked out. I think the rooms need updating.

Initially, I was given a standard room, which has to be one of the worst hotel rooms I've stayed in. Poorly decorated, horrendous mattress, poorly equipped, and the smell from the bathroom made my partner gag. However, on request of details of an upgraded room, we were transferred to a far superior room at no extra cost. This room was talk and cheese, well decorated, nicely equipped and the bathroom was amazing, if not a little rough in places, but I could let that slip. The restaurant seems to only employ one person who is doing his best, but an hour from ordering to starters arriving isn't really good enough. When the food did arrive, it was well presented and tasty. In conclusion, I dont think I'd recommend the hotel at the prices it charges. Could be really nice, but it falls short in so many places.

We hired the garden room for our baby shower last weekend and couldn't of had a better day! There was about 40 adults & 8 children, all having afternoon tea. The service & food was amazing and the room itself is gorgeous and perfect for this sort of event! Would definitely recommend booking here :)

Came for a 'posh' fish and chips with my sister on Saturday afternoon. It was a Virgin gift voucher from my friends. We were seated straight away and all the staff were really lovely. Modern decor. The fish and chips were delicious and we also enjoyed the fizz that came with it. Great first impression of the place and we will certainly call in again. Thank you for a lovely time.

Stayed here as part of a work trip. The beef Sunday roast was excellent and being a Yorkshire native I am very picky about my Yorkshire puddings - it was spot on! Friendly service, quiet and comfortable room, and a lovely fresh scrambled egg and smoked salmon with coffee breakfast too. Highly recommended!

Arrived before check in and sat in the cocktail bar. Beautiful place. Manager was awesome, couldn't do enough for us. Staff were lovely. Our room was small but adequate. Receptionist Tia was very friendly and welcoming and we had a great laugh with her. Lovely girl, definitely an asset to the business. Dinner was very tasty, but because of the cocktails we consumed earlier we retired to our room. Apologies to anyone in the vicinity for us laughing all night. Had a brilliant sleep, room was a bit too warm for my liking but it didn't bother us. Only issues we had were no hot water for morning shower, but we will be compensated for it (thank you to Tia) and a short and curly, and a few weird brown bits in the bed. Breakfast was delicious too. Gutted we didn't book for 2 nights. We will definitely be back. A well needed relaxing break

I had an annual Christmas lunch with a group of retired work colleagues here. Food was excellent, as were the drinks (IPA was very good, shame i was driving) We had a private room which was great and made it that bit more special and avoided diturbing the other diners. The service was excellent and patient: there was a lot of loud talk so attracting our attention to serve our choices was a challenge which the staff handled perfectly.
