I am giving it 3 stars as I am disabled and the restaurant staff for breakfast were wow. What they didn't do to help and accomadated me. They made life so easy for me and many of the team got involved to help. They were on hand and regularly checked on me. The dinner the night before was horrible. Dry, bland and expensive! We stayed in a family room and it was the worst night's sleep I have had in a long time. The room next door were up until 4am. Screaming and carrying on and this included small children. I called reception and asked if they could help, unsure if they visited the room as nothing changed. Very dated, basic and wasn't assessible but that part is my fault. I wouldn't stay here again. The bed wasn't the best and room quite cold.

Rachel in front of house singles handed made our stay with her care and attention to detail. I travelled with my 7yr old for our trip to the new Lapland UK Manchester and Rachel made my son feel so special and the hotel experience as magical as Lapland. I can’t fault the food in the bar the child selection is brilliant and the breakfast is faultless where again staff made my son feel very special and treated him exceptionally well. The staff have a level of class that is to be admired! Hotel is beautiful- our room large and well maintained I don’t see how anyone can be unhappy here.

Great location, really helpful staff and nice rooms. Breakfast was a help yourself one which was fairly standard and very typical and large hotels, just ok. Nothing fancy. I big thank you to the management of the hotel for dealing with a very sensitive issue relating to a aggressive guess

We've just spent 5 nights in the Byley suite at this lovely hotel. I can't fault it in any way. It's very clean and comfortable. The staff are all friendly and attentive. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. The grounds and outside spaces are attractive and well maintained and there's plenty of parking available.

We stayed in the Lovall Suite within the Old Hall and were thoroughly impressed. The room was beautifully appointed, spotless, and full of character. We were there for two nights to celebrate our son's wedding, and the entire experienceβ€”from the attentive staff to the exceptional breakfast optionsβ€”was flawless. Sadly, other family members who stayed in the newer parts of the estate didn’t have the same experience. Their rooms lacked the charm and quality we enjoyed, leaving them somewhat disappointed.

Fantastic hotel hidden in a historic building. Loads of parking in the beautiful grounds. Our room was clean modern and spacious with a good ensuite. All of the public areas are kept to a high standard. The food we had was all really good and not expensive for the quality and standard of service. Drinks were not badly priced. We used the leisure facilities which were of a very high standard. The friendly, helpful staff really made the difference to our stay and we can't wait to return.

Excellent hotel and facilities. I was here for an event (multi-day). I really enjoyed the welcome received from the staff, particularly in the gym as they invited me in to morning exercise classes. Would highly recommend for: Team retreats/academic seminars/professional resets. Rooms could do with a bit of a refresh, particularly with respect to the number of power points/USB charging options when thinking of the devices a modern business traveller lugs around with them.

The family room we had really was s let down. The staff are great and main building. But quality of the room does not compare to Premier Inn, which would have been cheeper. Other room had biscuits for the guests but not ours. No lamp on the desk so its a dark corner of the room making it hard to work at the desk. 1 comfortable chair in s room for 3 is a bit of a let down. Smallest double bed i havd been in for a long time. I know this is not the standard of other venues in the chain.

My partner, myself and some friends stayed here for 1 night, easy check in and lovely surroundings. The rooms are a great size with comfy beds and a wonderful shower. We had breakfast included, which was really good! Plenty of options from cooked breakfast to croissants. My only issue with this place, is there are cats roaming around inside. It's looks a pet friendly place, however I draw the line at cats on the actual dining tables - where guests eat. My friend Craig didn't mind, though. Other than that, a lovely stay.

What a beautiful place . Great location and grounds, the interior is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Our room was lovey and clean had a safe, iron, ironing board and a well stocked hospitality tray, the bed was really comfortable. The food is excellent quality and was delicious (it was a buffet style breakfast) and had a huge variety of hot and cold very tasty. The staff couldn't do enough to help and all were very friendly.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
