Went for the New Yearβs Eve dining experience and have to say it was superb in every way. The food serving was excellent, the setting, second to none with great service, attentive and courteous. Congratulations to all. This is one of our favourite places!

I can't say enough about how good this pub is. The food, drink and service is consistently brilliant. Dog friendly, great menu, great atmosphere. Even though we live locally we have stayed in the headmasters house a few times and the rooms there are to the same high standard.

We went for a Christmas meal with a group of 12 of us. We were accommodated at the end of the room on a long table. The ambience was really nice and subtle with candles lighting the entire table. The staff were very attentive and smartly presented. The food was really nice and the portions were very generous. I really couldn't fault anything except the location is a bit out of the way. But that has its benefits. Would definitely recommend and definitely would contact. The mulled wine was excellent.

Lovely place that was very lovely and looked very much that we would enjoy our experience. Thatβs where it ended. Hubbys pint had what I can only say was filter tips in plastic in his drink, yet when pointed out owner and bar person said the glass was cleanβ¦ and I asked for a new pint to be poured. Mediocre Sunday lunch, food not hot, roast potatoes pale and hard, however meat and suede mash were pleasant. Pear and blackberry crumble again not hot. Asked for a portion of meat to take away for the dog.. had to buy a roast dinner insteadβ¦ dog friendly pub β¦ if you pay

We purchased a package including room, dinner and breakfast, excellent value and quality. The pub: characterful and cosy with an excellent selection of gins including their own brand. The 2 course dinner was delicious, I had the fish special. Our room was very comfortable and clean, situated in the old school masters house. Breakfast was top quality. We will return.

Stopped there on the way for late lunch as we saw it on the side of the road. Such a cute, authentic atmosphere, and the food was DELICIOUS! Loved it and would go there again if I was living in the UK. The Chocolate Brownie was from another world, you just want more.

Wipe your tables! We called ahead to book a table but weβre told no bookings (completely understandable policy) but were told we should be fine for a table at 3. Some of the tables were reserved which confused us slightly. After a long drive, we were told there were no tables and could wait at the bar if we really wanted to. We decided to wait at the bar, but felt like an inconvenience and it was clear that really wasnβt what staff wanted us to do- we overheard that we were quite in the way. The younger members of staff were quite unwelcoming and we did feel quite uncomfortable ordering drinks etc. Totally understandable that a busy Sunday is stressful; perhaps it was the booking/ walk in process which caused some tension? When we did get a table, (which didnβt get wiped down) we asked if we could move to one of several free tables in the main building- the add on area was really quite cold as the back door was left open with customers outside. We were told no because the identical table of 4 was booked. No problem, we put our coats on. The starters came and were lovely! An hour wait later, our mains came after we asked if they were on their way. The food was lovely but cold- no one came to check back in and we didnβt feel the younger members of staff were overly approachable, so we paid up and left. Disappointed after we had heard such good things, maybe we just called in on a bad day? No clear sign of management and all the staff looks miserable and angry.

Stumbled across this pub by chance. And Wow, what an amazing place. The place is so unique in how it looks and set out for a pub/restaurant. The character they have kept from what was an old school is impressive. The food was amazing, the staff were very friendly. Iβm going to go and say itβs probably the best pub Iβve been to. Will definitely be going back

Lovely, interesting building. Excellent service, efficient and welcoming. All the food we ate was tasty, well cooked and attractively presented. It would be nice to see some seasonal drinks like mulled wine or cider, and a few more dishes that aren't so typically pub grub but I know they have to offer what sells and I'm being picky! We'll be back - fantastic ambience.

Food excellent. Lovely pub in atmospheric school house. Service a little slow, but worth the wait. I had the curry, delicious and my friends both had the liver and throughly enjoyed it.
