   I will start with the positives .. location great , across the road from the pavilion gardens , which along with Buxton it’s self were beautiful, Now the negatives .. Dated & tired looking, & it could do with a complete revamp, their was no working lift which meant a walk up two flights of stairs to our room ( + the stair banisters creaked a bit when holding on to them !) which wasn’t very good when suffering from arthritis & using a walking stick ! The accommodation was room only , but breakfast would of been nice . Would I stay there again ?? .. yes , if they did some improvements

   Place is quite dated and needs a make over. It was exhausting climbing three flights of stairs as the lift was broken. However, on the plus side it is very reasonably priced, there is free parking right outside and free wifi. The rooms are large. It is ideally located just across from the park and if you walk through the park you are in the town. If you keep your expectations low and go in the knowledge that it is very dated you will have a lovely time as Buxton and the surrounding area is lovely.

   The reason for such a low rating are as follows; The Fabric of the exterior and interior is in need of extensive refurbishment. The Bedroom we stayed in for two nights is in need of immediate redecoration, with the Bedlinen and Towels of an age needing replacement. The location is within easy walking distance of the Town Centre and potentially upgraded overall would be an ideal Hotel . The Owners/ Management need to up their game .

   The bizarre, tacky, movie themed hotel was a big let down. Very dated and not the cleanest, especially the bathroom with its leaky toilet. No drinking water or glasses provided. Wouldnt have eaten breakfast if offered!!! The welcome was non-existant, only interested in getting paid. Lift out of order and metal props visible going up the stairs. Not sure how safe this hotel really is. Come on chaps, its not rocket science. Clean up and get painting!!! The only good thing about this place was the location.

   first off we stayed in a family room which to be fair was a good size, that said here are the bad points 1) Hotel is VERY dated and had a bad musty smell 2) the room was dirty with a lot of dust and dirt on skirting boards, bathroom was full of hair and marks ( not scuffs) on the walls. 3) no black out blind on window soon as it was light the room was bright. 4) family room was top floor with NO lift for the week were there so if you have a young child then this would be a nightmare 5) when handing key in was not asked if we enjoyed our stay or a simple thank you for staying.
