This is a tricky one, because it's so common to be stood waiting whilst there's a lot of chat going on behind the counter. However, I had to go in for an appointment with the pharmacist and she was great, as was the member of staff who advised me to visit direct and saved me £23
Made to wait 30 minutes for a prescription for antibiotics because the pharmacist was doing flu jabs we were not informed of this when we were told the initial wait would be 15 min !
The staff here shock me with how consistently rude and unhelpful they are - every time I go in, I am met with a miserable reception from whoever is serving (seems to be all of them so far unfortunately!) and one woman in particular who I’ve dealt with three times, has been patronising and passive aggressive on each interaction - looks at me gone out and like I’m a complete idiot if she doesn’t have the answer to questions about medication/ prescriptions, rather than working with me to get to a solution. I’m always with my two year old daughter and feel no care or consideration is given. A few times when I’ve asked about my babies medication or missing prescription, she and another have responded shrugging their shoulders with really unfriendly facial expressions, followed by saying ‘well I don’t know.’ Then not helping me with next steps or a solution until I’ve asked multiple times! It’s been quite upsetting and frustrating at times. Another time, I hadn’t been given a green slip from the hospital for my babies prescription and the woman made me feel so stupid- She firstly corrected my language of ‘green slip’ to ‘prescription slip’ and then after me saying her ‘correct term’, responded with ‘Right, that’s better isn't it?’ In the most patronising voice. Not on at all!! Honestly, I find this particular store is shocking. I always leave feeling frustrated and a bit sad to be honest! I wish there was another closer by- I’ll be avoiding it at all costs. Such a shame as boots staff elsewhere seem to always be great.
Went in to ask for advice and received poor customer service. Assistant was snappy and unfriendly. I had an issue I was quite concerned about so there was just no need for the unpleasant attitude. Could do much better considering people go there for help.
The staff are so miserable in this shop including the pharmacists. The only person who is actually nice to customers is Debbie (I assume that's the lady who served me as per my receipt). She's the only one in the shop who greets you with a smile and has a friendly manner towards customers. She's a credit to the store. The rest lack basic customer service skills.

Boots Allestree very helpfully go to the trouble of sending you a text alert when your prescription is ready, but fail to do the very simple, sensible and courteous thing of adding to the message that you cannot collect between the pharmacists 1- 2.15 lunch break. Yes it says it at the store, but what good is this when you've already made the effort to get there? I only have a 10 minute drive, but what about those that have made a longer - or harder journey if they're elderly...? Not only would this act of basic common sense prevent wasted time and frustration for customers but it would protect staff from being on the other end of that frustration. Now I'm aware of this oversight I can avoid that time, but good luck to those that don't know. Come on Boots at Allestree, it's not rocket science.
So, I know you don't exactly expect a party atmosphere at Allestree Boots but the Pharmacy Staff do look like they need some of the medications they dispense to liven them up a bit. I was disappointed when told by the doctor a prescription was there to collect only to be told as a matter of fact by someone looking like they took their job for granted and customers were a nuisance, to return in another two whole days to give them time to put the small box in a paper bag. The Pharmacists here are clever people but unhappy people and cannot shop at Aldi as the Aldi till staff won't let them take 2 days to pack their shopping bags. Boots Allestree should merge with the co op travel and offer short term Holiday breaks to make the wait not seem so bad and maybe treat the staff to a break too so they don't then leave customers feeling like maybe taking their medication all at once and book in at the coop funeral parlour round the corner.
